Warner Bros has reportedly added an unknown DC movie for 2023. According to YouTube personality Syl Abdul, Warner Bros. will release the film prior to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on December 25, 2023. However, it’ll come out after Blue Beetle on August 18, 2023.

Therefore, given this time frame, expects this mystery DC movie to drop sometime in September 2023. Abdul revealed in his video:

There seems to be another film for the DC slate in 2023…September will probably be the month. I don’t have the title of the film.

Abdul added that his source explained this isn’t just a Warner Bros. picture. In other words, it’s not a smaller budget Warner Bros. drama that can be shot now and released in 2023. Specifically, it’s from DC Films.

However, that’s less than a year from now. Superhero movies use plenty of special effects. Moreover, they feature extensive action sequences. There isn’t enough time to complete such a film. Since Abdul doesn’t have any clues to its identity, only a process of elimination can help.

First of all, is DC Films secretly shooting a movie? Certainly, anything is possible. But DC Films has leaked like a ruptured gas tank the past few months. For example, in July Abdul scooped that Lost Kingdom added Ben Affleck’s Batman. Star Jason Momoa made it official the day after we covered it.

So much for confidential information.

Secondly, could it be Batgirl? Warner Bros. Discovery already shelved it and took a tax write off. Otherwise, it’s possible. Granted, WBD might’ve changed their minds. Still, I wouldn’t bet on it. Batgirl can’t fight off the stink of inferior product.

Thirdly, there’s a chance it’s a national release for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. After all, filmmaker Kevin Smith has chosen ZSJL to play at his Smodcastle Cinemas in the same year. At four hours long, it’s a bit too lengthy for a wide release.

For unreleased DC movies, that does leave The Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad. Nonetheless, insiders told me HBO Max plans it for 2022. Could they shift it for a theatrical release? I haven’t heard anything solid towards a change like that. Consequently, this untitled DC movie remains a huge question mark.

Hopefully, it isn’t Hourman.
