Filmmaker Kevin Smith confirmed he will show Zack Snyder’s Justice League in his own theater. In late September, Smith teased his Smodcastle Cinemas could show Snyder’s four-hour epic on his big screen.

He will.

In fact, Snyder will also be present.

This represents the theatrical debut of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Granted, it’s not national. Well, at least not yet. Still, some lucky fans can finally watch the movie the way it was meant to be.

If Stan Lee was the king of superheroes, then Kevin Smith is, without question, the king of geeks. While he was growing up, Smith’s father routinely let him cut school so they could go to the movies together.

They would always go to The Atlantic Moviehouse. Smith’s childhood theater, which is just under 100 years old, has been a staple of his hometown for his entire life. In August, Smith revealed that he and his wife Jennifer Schwalback were buying The Atlantic Moviehouse. They did. Smith changed the name to Smodcastle Cinemas.

Furthermore, Smith gave us an idea of his plans for his new venture which includes a merchandise store in the lobby, a film school camp, screenings of cult classics, Q&A sessions, special events and marathons.

Moreover, Smith revealed that he’d recently been in touch with several directors like the Russo brothers and George R.R. Martin. In addition, he spoke to Snyder about a screening for ZSJL.

During the most recent episode of his YouTube live show, Fat Man Beyond, Smith said:

Who else did I reach out to? Zack Snyder, I texted him and I was like, ‘Is this still you?’ And he goes, ‘This is still me.’ I said, ‘Hey, man, I bought a movie theater. Can you come do a screening?’ So, I was like, ‘Want do you want to show?’ And he was like, ‘Well, there’s that one movie I made that has never been shown in the theater.’ I was like, ‘We’ll show every minute of it…’ So, he’s coming to do it.

Obviously, they’re talking about Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which was denied a theatrical release by Warner Bros.

Audiences have been hoping to watch Snyder’s masterpiece in a theater. Unfortunately, as expected with the old Warner Bros. regime, this never happened.

Nevertheless, both Smith and Snyder are now intent to right that wrong themselves at Smodcastle Cinemas in 2023.
