It is also possible that Henry Cavill signed the contract at the time. According to Abdul, Cavill wants in, 100%. Not just for cameos but also for team-ups and solo films.
Warner Bros. Discovery planned that his Superman will have more than one solo film. So we can expect Man of Steel 2 is sure to happen.
On April 11, 2021, Geekosity founder Mikey Sutton revealed that The Rock planned for Cavill to appear in Black Adam. Last week, Abdul leaked that Cavill filmed a Black Adam scene in early August.

For years now we have been wondering if Cavill will return as Superman. We’ve seen body doubles in Shazam! and Peacemaker, but where is Cavill? We’ve all thought that he would show up at the recent SDCC. But DC Films’ presentation kind of fell flat because of all the hype, and Cavill didn’t show up.
Nevertheless, Cavill is still in position to return. Why didn’t he show up? Warner Bros. Discovery is waiting for the right moment to show him.
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has chosen Cavill as the Superman for the DCEU with his 10-year plan. He is the Superman of this generation. This is different from what ex-DC Films president Walter Hamada intended. Hamada wanted Sasha Calle’s Supergirl to replace Cavill’s Superman. This is why Zaslav cancelled the Supergirl movie.
Before Zaslav’s 10-year plan can start, WBD needs to finish the current slate of projects. This includes Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Blue Beetle, Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and The Flash. He has to get those films out first while laying the foundations. Hence, the reshoots.

Audiences can expect Superman to show up for the post-credits scene of Black Adam. The Rock is a fan of the SnyderVerse. Thus, he did what he can to make sure that Cavill will be in the film.
There is a possibility that they will add Cavill in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but there’s no confirmation at this time. It’s possible that this is one of the reasons for the delay of its film release from March 2023 to December 25, 2023. They could add Cavill for a cameo to set up other future movies.
