Zack Snyder’s Producer Returns For Man Of Steel Sequel

Frequent Zack Snyder producer Charles Roven returns for the sequel to Man of Steel. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Discovery moves forward with Man of Steel 2. On October 11, I scooped that WBD might give the sequel a different title. Specifically, I leaked it could be just Superman.

In fact, THR seems unsure it’s called Man of Steel 2 as well. They wrote that movie will “essentially be Man of Steel 2.” In other words, they’re clear it follows up Zack Snyder’s 2013 film. Other than that, they don’t confirm that’s its name. Regardless, Henry Cavill once again plays Superman.

The timing should boost Black Adam‘s marketing. After all, Cavill’s Superman appears in Black Adam‘s post-credit sequence. Someone predictably shared the footage online, and it set social media ablaze. Call it Black Adam‘s Venom: Let There Be Carnage moment. Before Sony released Let There Be Carnage, Tom Holland’s brief shot showed up everywhere.

Thus, it gave the movie’s box office a visible jolt. Indeed, it became a real must-see film. The same can be said for Black Adam.

Although Cavill’s cameo runs only five seconds, it serves as a preview for Black Adam 2. For the most part, it excited SnyderVerse fans. While there exists a minority who won’t watch Black Adam because Zack Snyder didn’t direct it, others see reality. The success of Black Adam shows Warner Bros. Discovery made the right decision in killing the old regime’s planned DC reboot.

Sasha Calle’s Supergirl could’ve replaced Cavill’s Superman in the DCEU. Granted, WBD is keeping Calle. However, her Supergirl will coexist with Cavill’s Superman. Without a doubt, count your blessings.

Roven produced all of Snyder’s DCEU work. This includes Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

THR added that Man of Steel 2 “is currently in a search for writers.” Interestingly, the article made no mention of directors. I reported WBD prefers Snyder to come back for it. Nonetheless, at this time I haven’t heard of any negotiations with Snyder yet. Still, sources tell me Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav had “tremendous admiration” for Man of Steel.

Thus, it isn’t just about the actor. A package deal of Cavill and Snyder for Man of Steel 2 would immediately be a massive win for Zaslav.

On April 18, I scooped that WBD was developing Man of Steel 2 with Cavill. Watch the video here.

Scoop confirmed.
