Gal Gadot's Cameo In The Flash Proves DC Reboot Is A Terrible Idea

Gal Gadot‘s Wonder Woman cameo in The Flash makes one wish there is no DC reboot. Well, it’s one reason. In fact, it’s the latest in a series of lousy decisions made by DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. The scene that Ben Affleck describes will eventually lead to nowhere. Such a shame because there’s the potential of Gal Gadot’s onscreen chemistry with Affleck being explored in the future.

Affleck has spoiled Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman appearing in The Flash on a recent podcast. If there’s one thing that studios do their utmost to prevent from leaking online it’s spoilers for their upcoming releases. Normally. it’s Marvel Studios that has a problem with their films being spoiled in advance.

Whether that be from one of their stars having loose lips or one of their scripts being leaked onto Reddit. Nonetheless, DC has hilariously been giving them a run for their money in recent months.

Twice this year, DC have had one of the biggest surprise moments spoiled in their theatrical releases. In addition, they both involve the same character.

In the run-up to its release, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods aired a TV spot featuring Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. With box-office projections looking dismal, Warner Bros. had to figure out a way to generate hype for the sequel. So they decided to spoil Gal Gadot’s cameo much to director David F. Sandberg’s dismay.

It was already known that Wonder Woman would appear in the movie as part of a dream sequence. Exclusive footage shown at CinemaCon last year confirmed this.

But Gadot’s face was never shown.

Furthermore, we instead see Djimon Hounsou’s head on Wonder Woman’s body telling Billy Batson (Asher Angel) t0 wake up. Wacky. (Keep in mind Gunn recommended this sequel). After that, it looked like Gal Gadot wouldn’t appear as the Amazonian princess in the movie. Nevertheless, the TV spot released by Warner Bros. officially confirmed the actress’s inclusion.

However, not even Gal Gadot could save the movie. After all, she couldn’t even save her own sequel, let alone Shazam’s.

Despite this, the love for both the character as well as her actress remains strong. Warner Bros. and DC know this. So it’s no surprise that Gal Gadot will also have a brief role in The Flash later this year.

This was spoiled due to an early merchandise leak. Moreover, Gadot’s full scene has now been completely revealed by one of the movie’s stars.

Affleck gave a detailed description of her scene. Without a doubt, it feels respectful to the character. In addition, it seems both exciting and moving, which neither Shazam! Fury of the Gods nor Wonder Woman 1984 were.

Keeping his eye out for DC snipers which would probably miss their target anyway, Affleck revealed:

“I don’t want to give spoilers but it was a scene where I get caught — I get saved — by Wonder Woman during a conflagration with some bad guys, she saves me… with the lasso of truth. And so what happens is that Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life and his work.”

Ben Affleck will only appear as Batman in the first act of The Flash. So it’s likely that Gadot will also only appear during the first few minutes of the movie.

Affleck also explained that his performance in The Flash was the first time he really understood the character.

He admitted:

“It’s my best sh– I’ve done as Batman, I finally figured out how to play the guy. I was like, ‘Hold on, I quit. I know I quit. But I got it now!’”

Following his rough experience on director Joss Whedon’s blasphemous makeover of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, it’s nice to hear Affleck be enthusiastic about playing Batman again. Unfortunately, Gunn believes his vision is superior to continuing with the SnyderVerse.
