Wonder Woman‘s rumored cameo in Shazam!: Fury Of The Gods could increase the weak buzz for the sequel. Believe or not, Shazam!: Fury Of The Gods will hit theaters in less than three weeks’ time. This is hard to believe given the very little marketing that the upcoming superhero movie has received.
It’s not at all surprising that the movie is currently tracking to bomb on opening day. Although critics praised the first Shazam!, so far it’s unknown how the new one will fare. Frankly, people should stop letting Rotten Tomatoes ratings rule their cinematic decisions. As such, positive or negative reactions can gauge box-office results.
Nonetheless, James Gunn’s looming DCU reboot has put excitement for the sequel’s imminent release at an all-time low. Shazam!: Fury Of The Gods seems heavy on CGI, which tend to alienate critics. That won’t help this film fill seats on opening weekend.
The entire cast from the first film all reprise their roles as the Shazam family. Plus director David F. Sandberg has returned to helm this sequel.

Moreover, it features big Hollywood names like Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as main villains, The Daughters of Atlas.
Early reports from the set while it was still filming suggested that Wonder Woman would make an appearance. This was later confirmed when footage of the film was shown at last year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
Furthermore, a description of the scene featuring Zachary Levi’s Shazam on a dinner date with Wonder Woman emerged online.
“The footage includes Levi’s Shazam in Paris at a restaurant, with Wonder Woman having dinner with him. The hero tells Wonder Woman that he can’t commit, and she begins to walk out, but suddenly stops. When she turns around, it is not Gal Gadot, but instead, it’s the Wizard, who warns Shazam in a dream that the Daughters of Atlas is coming for him.”
Since then there’s been debate as to whether or not Gal Gadot would actually appear as Wonder Woman. Audiences still haven’t gotten over the headless Superman appearance in Shazam!

A recent Japanese TV spot have shown glimpses of what appears to be the character using her Bracelets Of Submission. Knowing that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman will play a part in the movie will definitely boost anticipation for its release.
Then again, it’s no guarantee. Cavill’s post-credits cameo in Black Adam sadly had little effect on its take.
