Zachary Levi Feels He Will Remain As Shazam!

While James Gunn implied Gal Gadot is still the DCU’s Wonder Woman, Zachary Levi assures fans he remains as Shazam! as well.

Currently, it seems that fans are somehow doing a roll call as to who among the DC actors are still on board the DCU future. Even though Levi still has Shazam! Fury of the Gods coming up, his character is still under the DC umbrella. One massive franchise that is undergoing significant overhauls as we speak. DC Studios co-CEOs Gunn and Peter Safran know their mission is not easy.

Right after Gunn stated that they are looking to feature a new and younger Superman, people assumed everyone else follows. However, as Gadot seems to be still on board, no official statements are available pertaining to the rest of the franchise.

So far, all we know is that Henry Cavill is no longer Superman. The movies coming for the 2023 slate are what remains from the previous regime. Everything that follows Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is unknown. Except for the younger Superman feature, the rest of the DCU future is anybody’s guess.

Thus, it’s rather understandable when a fan express worries whether Zachary Levi will still be the Wizard’s Champion after the sequel hits theaters. Thankfully, Zachary Levi posted his take on the information circulating about him no longer going to be Shazam in the new DCU. He replied:

Oooh, I really wouldn’t go believing everything you see on the internet. I’m Gucci, Ash. We all Gucci.

Somehow, this gives an assurance especially because he still has a movie coming up. But, as what has been happening in the past days, can we be really sure? Fans have developed the dread of reading about one bad news to another when it comes to DC.

It’s sad that it has come to this where fans cannot completely hold on to what updates they see from the studio itself.

Not two months ago we all celebrated the welcome news that Cavill is back as Superman. Then he isn’t anymore. Everyone is moving on from that, some having to move on from it harder than expected. Even Cavill has his eyes on a new project now.

Just over a week ago Gal Gadot posted on social media of her excitement for Wonder Woman 3. Then it’s like the line from Wham!’s “Last Christmas”: “But the very next day you gave it away.”

So, DC fans, let’s save ourselves some tears, shall we? In every story there is a lesson we can learn. Let’s hope the new DCU does better.
