Flash Director Could Do Henry Cavill’s New Superman Movie

The Flash director Andy Muschietti lands on the list of potential directors for Henry Cavill’s Superman sequel. The Twitter account El Calavero dropped the scoop. They tweeted (translated from Spanish):

Andy Muschietti is on the list of possible directors to direct Man Of Steel 2.

Speculation that Muschietti acquired Justice League 2 crept online shortly after Jason Momoa teased a dream DC project. How convenient that it didn’t appear prior to Momoa’s joyful burst. Oops, it actually did. Giant Freakin Robot already shared that rumor back in September.

They deserve proper credit, whether you believe their story or not.

Insiders told me there might be some confusion between The Flash 2 and Justice League 2. Sources expect Muschietti to return for The Flash 2. Moreover, on October 19 we revealed that The Flash 2 could include other heroes. Therefore, it might seem like a Justice League movie. After all, the Flash (Ezra Miller) can’t fight the Legion of Doom on his own.

Warner Bros. Discovery still wants Zack Snyder for Justice League 2. In fact, that might be why Momoa was so ecstatic on Instagram a few days ago. I doubt it was for Muschietti. Indeed, Momoa is a huge Snyder supporter.

Still, the question remains: Why isn’t Snyder directing Man of Steel 2? If WBD intends to release the Henry Cavill film in 2024, there’s no time for Snyder. He’s busy with Netflix’ Rebel Moon and its sequel.

Nevertheless, Snyder said he “can’t wait to work” with Henry Cavill in the future.

If it’s not Cavill’s next Superman movie, what is it then? I can safely say it’s not Hyperion for Marvel Studios.

In any case, El Calavero’s report makes sense. In late October, Small Screen leaked that The Flash‘s post-credits scene sets up Man of Steel 2 or whatever it’s called. (Probably just Superman).

Thus, Muschietti can smoothly transition from one film to another. In addition, Sasha Calle’s Supergirl will appear in both films. WBD apparently loved how Muschietti directed Calle in The Flash.

Nonetheless, WBD hasn’t signed a director for Man of Steel 2 yet. But keep an eye out for Muschietti as El Calavero might be onto something.
