Elsa Bloodstone Makes MCU Debut In Disney Plus’ Werewolf By Night

Written by Edwin Francisco

Elsa Bloodstone teams up with Werewolf by Night in his Disney Plus Halloween Special. On June 26, 2021, Geekosity founder Mikey Sutton scooped that Elsa Bloodstone would join the MCU. At the time, it was unknown where she’d first appear.

However, a new Werewolf by Night leak reveals her initial destination.

Writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning co-created Elsa Bloodstone with artist Michael Lopez. She debuted in Bloodstone No. 1 in 2001. That comic became speculation fodder the past few years. Her supernatural ties made her a candidate for the MCU’s entry into horror.

Sure enough, she’s in. Laura Donnelly plays her in the Werewolf by Night Halloween Special.

For the most part, Marvel Studios has been iron clad with any form of leaks. But some things do get out, unfortunately. After all, see what happened to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

Indeed, it looks like the MCU’s iron clad armor has a few chips off it.

Composer Michael Giacchino is directing the Werewolf By Night Halloween Special. Gael Garcia Bernal stars as its lead, Jack Russell.

On the other hand, keep in mind this originated on Reddit. Yes, it can reveal a ton of things since information is based on community participation. But then again, because of it, there are more fake ones than real ones. Because of that, don’t expect everything to land.

Firstly, Marvel Studios will use practical effects to bring Werewolf by Night to life. Hopefully, they’ll come close to the eye-popping FX in ’80s classics such as The Howling. It’s possible that they may clean and touch up the shots after filming which is something common these days. But if it’s fully a practical effect without any CGI it will be interesting to see. The notes indicate that it’s comparable to vintage Planet of the Apes.

Secondly, there are no direct MCU references like Moon Knight. Regardless, it’ll be set in the MCU. Marvel Studios sets up these horror heroes for the Midnight Suns.

Third, it’s mostly in black and white.

On April 29, we covered the earlier report of Man-Thing in the Werewolf by Night Halloween Special. The Reddit leak corroborates it. In addition, Man-Thing and Bloodstone join forces with Werewolf by Night. Although the rumor doesn’t mention the Midnight Suns, it’s obvious where this is headed.
