Daredevil Reboot Will Feature Comic-Accurate Bullseye

Marvel Studios will introduce a new comic-accurate Bullseye in their Daredevil reboot. Although Marvel Studios kept Charlie Cox Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio‘s the Kingpin, not everyone will return from the Netflix series.

In the comics, Bullseye is among Daredevil’s key villains. Writer Marv Wolfman and artist John Romita Sr. co-created Bullseye in Daredevil No. 131 in 1976.

However, it wasn’t until writer/artist Frank Miller incorporated Bullseye in his run that he caught fire.

Specifically, Miller toughened and deepened Bullseye. His brutal murder of Elektra shocked fans in the early ’80s. Two actors have played Bullseye in live action.

First of all, Colin Farrell portrayed Bullseye in Fox’s 2003 Daredevil movie. Afterwards, Wilson Bethel became Bullseye in Daredevil‘s Season Three. Alas, both were pale shadows of Bullseye in the comic books.

Bullseye has one of comics’ most striking costumes. Unfortunately, Hollywood hasn’t shared the same enthusiasm. Sources indicate that the MCU Bullseye will be accurate to the comic books.

Given that the new Daredevil will be TV-MA, Disney Plus won’t tone him down, either. Bullseye is an extremely violent foe.

Marvel Studios hasn’t cast Bullseye yet. However, insiders add that he’ll either be referenced or appear in Season One. Furthermore, sources revealed that Bullseye will be an assassin for the Kingpin.

There has been discussions of Bullseye joining the Thunderbolts. The Thunderbolts will basically be the MCU’s version of DC’s the Suicide Squad. As of press time, no decision has been made yet concerning this.

Marvel Studios is focused on making the new Daredevil show closer to its comic-book roots. Bullseye is a prime example of those efforts. An insider explained:

Wilson Bethel wasn’t a bad actor. But he certainly didn’t look like Bullseye in the comics. That’s not his fault. Jeph Loeb had an aversion to costumes, it seems like. Still, Marvel Studios wants an actor with superior acting abilities.

For Season One, the Kingpin will be Daredevil’s main villain. Certainly, that isn’t a surprise. But Bullseye’s role is going to grow.

Marvel Studios plans to recast Elektra. Élodie Yung portrayed Elektra in Netflix’ Daredevil. Elektra’s presence puts her in the crosshairs of Bullseye.

In other words, the puzzle pieces are forming.
