Fans wonder when the assassin Elektra will appear in Daredevil: Born Again. The upcoming Disney Plus series has officially signed Charlie Cox in the title role and Vincent D’Onofrio as the Kingpin. Both reprise their roles from Netflix’ Daredevil. However, they’re likely outside that show’s canon.
Given that, what about Daredevil’s lover, Elektra?
Writer/artist Frank Miller created Elektra. She debuted in Daredevil No. 168 in 1981. Jennifer Garner played her in 2003’s Daredevil and 2005’s Elektra. Although Garner did her best, neither film fully captured Miller’s intense vision. Then again, they were before Marvel Studios.

On March 14, 2021, Geekosity owner Mikey Sutton revealed that Elektra will come back. However, Marvel Studios plans to recast her. In other words, don’t count on Élodie Yung returning. Certainly, they can change their minds. For now, though, insiders claim that Marvel Studios will seek a different Elektra for Daredevil: Born Again.
On the other hand, it won’t be Eiza González, either. González responded to the rumors. Moreover, she discussed the negativity the fake news caused.
Marvel Updates on Twitter reported that Daredevil: Born Again cast González as Elektra. She’s not. The gossip left fans confused and others outraged. So much so that certain trolls took to Twitter and began sending hate messages to Gonzalez.
The actress debunked it on her own Twitter account. González revealed it would be impossible for her take on the role due to her commitments. In addition, she also used this opportunity to call out those who have been harassing her of late.

I feel like I’m just gonna get it out of the way because, one I’m confused as for the amount of hate over this and two I feel like it saves people energy. No I’m not cast as Elektra in Daredevil I have already a on going series exclusivity contract to 3 Body Problem. Ur welcome.
In a second Tweet, she continued:
I’d appreciate if I could live free of negative ill intended messages about me playing/stealing? a role that I don’t even know about. Thank you and wishing you all the best.
Nevertheless, she didn’t completely rule out playing a superhero at some point in the future. Sources tell us that Elektra probably isn’t in the first season. Instead, they’re saving her for later, with the second being the most likely.
