Titans Season Four has finally found it’s Lex Luthor as Sons of Anarchy’s Titus Welliver joins the cast. In the first three seasons of Titans, we’ve seen many fan favorite DC villains cause trouble for the young heroes. So far we’ve seen the likes of Deathstroke, the Scarecrow, Blackfire, Trigon, and Dr. Light all appear in the show.

Now Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor will finally make his long-awaited debut. Welliver landed the role. Entertainment Weekly broke the news.

Titans has teased Lex Luthor since the show’s second season after Superboy joined the team. Cadmus Labs created Superboy (Joshua Orpin) using the DNA of both Superman and Luthor. Titans reportedly planned for Luthor to appear in Season Three. However, this never happened.

Nonetheless, the character will finally makes his presence known in what will likely be an interesting story for Superboy. In addition to breaking this casting news, Entertainment Weekly also had an interview with Titans’ showrunner Greg Walker.

Walker revealed:

You usually have to do this whole dog-and-pony show to get an actor to do the show, but when I called to kind of lure him in, I could barely get a word in. We were talking on the phone and he was just walking through his library, telling me about all his Wolfman/Perez Titans editions. He’s a giant, giant fan. He’d watched every episode of the show, and could tell me about certain stories, certain shots. It was the most unexpected call I’ve ever had.

So, it’s turns out Welliver’s a big fan of the show and he’s been waiting on a call from DC. Furthermore, Walker also gave us some insight into what Luthor’s psyche will be on Titans.

Welliver explained:

He has a very sensitive, thoughtful approach to evil and power, you know what he’s done, what he’s capable of doing, except like many of those people, he’s personable. He sees the world through the lens both of his own power and his own inadequacy, and tries to compensate for both.

It’s currently unknown how big Luthor’s role in TitansSeason Four will be. After all, Brother Blood (Joseph Morgan) becomes the main villain.
