The last son of Krypton has gotten younger as DC Films is planning a Superboy movie.

DC Films and Warner Bros. have been notorious for not having a solid plan when it comes to adapting their famous characters for the movies.

There’ve been random announcements of heroes and villains that will receive solo films.

These include Supergirl, Batgirl, Blue Beetle, Zatanna, Static Shock, and even Hourman.

Now Superboy is rumored to have his own solo movie currently in development.

Add the Boy of Steel to the already confirmed J.J. Abrams’ Superman reboot; Michael B. Jordan’s Val-Zod HBO Max series; and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl spin-off.

DC is looking to expand the Super family even more with Conner Kent.

However, no further details regarding the film have been revealed.

But the report offered some insight into the possible paths the film’s plot could go down.

It explained:

While Superboy was the title given to a young Clark Kent in the early DC comics, these days he’s most often Conner Kent these days, with varying backstories and origins. We weren’t able to learn what backstory they’ll be using for their new Superboy movie, and honestly, that may turn into a detail they keep tightly wrapped.

In addition, the leak stated that the film might not pursue the most familiar but more complex origin for Kent.

Instead, DC could likely go with a more simple explanation for Superboy’s story.

The report stated:

He could have one of the more complicated backstories that involve him being a genetically engineered clone, or possibly a human/Kryptonian hybrid made using Superman and Lex Luthor’s DNA. It seems most likely that they’re planning for a Superboy movie where the character is the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Of course, any of these versions is currently possible.

This version of Superboy currently appears in the HBO Max series, Titans.

Furthermore, rising Australian star Joshua Orpin plays him.

This version of the character has been faithfully adapted using the clone of both Superman and Lex Luthor’s DNA.

It would make sense for DC to want to go with a different take on Kent for the movie.

At this moment it’s unknown if this movie will be theatrically released.

Instead, it could be another HBO Max exclusive.

Whatever the case may be fans of the Boy of Steel can catch the character in the third season of Titans now on HBO Max.
