The Witcher Replaces Superman Actor With Thor’s Brother

The Witcher has replaced their Superman actor with Thor’s brother. Specifically, Henry Cavill has exited the Netflix series. Moreover, Liam Hemsworth takes his place. His real-life brother, Chris Hemsworth, plays Thor in the MCU. Cavill posted on his Instagram:

Some news to share from The Continent…

My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men.

Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.

Cavill’s departure shouldn’t be a shock. After all, Cavill announced a few days ago that he’s officially back as Superman. On the other hand, some dubious scoopers out there claimed otherwise. They argued that Cavill was simply leveraging Warner Bros. Discovery for a larger salary.

Maybe WBD felt the same way as their social media reposted Cavill’s message.

Come on, man.

Fans aren’t dumb. I’m not even going to waste time asking insiders why Cavill dumped The Witcher. It’s in plain sight. This isn’t a mystery only Batman can solve. Moreover, it won’t require a phone call to Zack Snyder for a possible answer.

We don’t know much cash WBD dropped into Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, but it was enough for Cavill to leave The Witcher. Would Cavill split without a new DC Studios contract? Or for just another Superman cameo?

There’s only so many times I can say “Come on, man.”

As DCU and SnyderVerse fans rejoice, this has to hurt Netflix. Cavill’s exit punched Witcher viewers in the gut. Netflix has impossible shoes to fill. Without a doubt, Hemsworth isn’t his brother. Watch the ratings fall.

Likewise, if the old Warner Bros. regime wasn’t booted by new CEO David Zaslav, they would’ve met the same fate. After all, they wanted to let Cavill go. Forever. Instead, producer J.J. Abrams would reboot Superman with a new actor. Ask hardcore Star Wars and Star Trek followers what they think of Abrams.

Spoiler alert: It’s not pretty.

Thus, DCU fans dodged a bullet. The Witcher took the hit. Ouch. Many questioned Cavill’s busy schedule with The Witcher. Some speculated he’d have no time for the DCU. Not anymore.

The dawn of hope has arrived.
