The Marvels Play Important Role In The MCU’s Multiverse Saga

Written By Kieran Bugg

The Marvels might be the most important project in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. Despite naysayers’ claims, its predecessor Captain Marvel became a huge success for Marvel Studios. In fact, it smashed over $1 billion globally.

Moreover, Captain Marvel is one of the only solo MCU films to reach this milestone. Only Iron Man 3, Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home achieved that. The only difference is that Brie Larson’s superhero hadn’t already appeared in the MCU prior to her first solo outing.

Impressive.

Thus, a sequel was inevitable. Nevertheless, since it’s announcement, the sequel evolved into a team-up film between Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Photon (Teyonah Parris).

WandaVision’s post-credits scene with Parris planted the seeds. In addition, the bonus sequence in Ms. Marvel’s season finale saw Vellani trade places with her idol Carol Danvers (Larson). The reason for this switch is anyone’s guess. But it’s clear that it had something to do with Ms. Marvel’s bangle.

Undoubtedly, The Marvels delivers the full explanation. Furthermore, The Marvels plays a significant role in the Multiverse Saga. According to the Heavy Spoilers YouTube channel, Ms. Marvel’s bangle has the ability to “pull things across from other dimensions.” Her Disney Plus show hinted at this power.

For example, throughout the series, the Clandestines plotted to use the bangle to return home to the Noor dimension. Still, Ms. Marvel didn’t show it. Consequently, it’s up in the air as to whether or not the bangle can do this. On the contrary, it would definitely explain Ms. Marvel’s post-credit scene. Beyond that, it hints towards something more.

For a while now rumors circulated that the bangle shares a connection with Shang-Chi’s rings. Moreover, they trace back to Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania provided further evidence to support it.

Both mystical objects could directly connect to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Apparently, an incident in The Marvels involving the bangle “will lead to bigger things.” Heavy Spoilers also claimed that using the bangle, Ms. Marvel can pull “characters and resources” across the multiverse. Could she be the key to Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Hugh Jackman finally joining the Avengers?

In the MCU, anything is possible now.
