SnyderVerse To Netflix Tops Guardians 3 On Twitter

SnyderVerse to Netflix may be just a fan-created movement for now, but on Twitter the campaign topped James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 in terms of buzz. Per SnyderQueen on Twitter, the twin hashtags #SellZSJLtoNetflix and #SellSnyderVerseToNetflix beat Guardians in tweets last week.

The #Sell hashtags collected over 58,000 tweets combined but the third Guardians movie had only less than 23,000 tweets. SnyderQueen added that the hashtags just need 130,000 tweets to hit 1 million each.

The new Guardians movie was written and directed by James Gunn, who is now the co-CEO of DC Studios. While Twitter can’t predict future box-office results, you’d think the finale of his Guardians trilogy would generate more social-media heat less than a month away from its theatrical release.

In any case, Gunn killed the chances of a restored SnyderVerse at Warner Bros. Discovery with his confusing reboot.

Therefore, it’s amusing to see what he killed off overshadowing his own project. Well, at least on Twitter.

#SellTheSnyderVerseToNetflix campaign creator and YouTube host Skiiwalker Tha Jedi, has recently spoke out on the global movement. Warner Bros. had hoped that the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League would finally silence the director’s vocal fan base.

Unfortunately for the studio, it only made them more determined than ever before to see Snyder’s original vision fully realized. The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement was just the match; the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse campaign that followed would become the inferno it is today.

After the dismissal of Walter Hamada from DC Films, hopes for the SynderVerse potentially being restored were high. More so after Jason Momoa confirmed that Ben Affleck would be returning for a cameo in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

In addition, Henry Cavill also made his long overdue return as Superman for Black Adam’s epic post-credit scene. Thanks for that, Dwayne Johnson. For a moment, it seemed like everything was slowly but surely coming back together.

Nonetheless, following the merger between Discovery and Warner Bros., it all once again came crashing down. Newly appointed head of Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav would immediately approve a complete restructuring of DC Films. With that decision, DC Studios was formed with Gunn and Peter Safran named as its co-CEOs.

Worse yet, both Cavill and Affleck were officially relieved of their respective roles as Superman and Batman. With this heartbreaking news, hopes for the SnyderVerse were quickly dashed.

Moreover, a soft reboot would later be announced by James Gunn in an exclusive look at the DCU’s first chapter. A new Superman reboot titled Superman: Legacy was among the various projects announced by Gunn. Zack Snyder’s DCEU was seemingly gone for good this time.

Nevertheless, hope never dies.

From the ashes of #RestoreTheSnyderVerse came a new movement that’s gone on to dominate social media. Out of nowhere, #SellTheSnyderVerseToNetflix begun trending worldwide.

Gunn also revealed that separate Elseworlds movies will run alongside his upcoming DCU. They include Matt Reeves’ The Batman franchise and the Joker films.

“I saw a lot of pain that turned into anger and frustration that began to spiral out of control and it only seemed to get worse each day. I saw it in every corner of the DC fandom, even those who were adversarial to some of the prior movements but came around after the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. We ALL just wanted a conclusion to the story we were enjoying.”

“If we end up failing in our goals to get this thing licensed, at least we failed on our own terms is how I see it. Luckily, I really believe we’re going to get this done.”

Snyder himself expressed enthusiasm towards the possibility in a recent YouTube interview. He admitted:

“The truth is, that would be amazing.”
