Pierce Brosnan teased Doctor Fate’s future in the DCU. The following contains spoilers for Black Adam. You’ve been warned. After Black Adam‘s opening weekend, the audience has spoken. Thus, the excitement of what comes next for DC Studios has fans wanting to see more.
Due to his superb performance, people have also been talking about Pierce Brosnan’s portrayal of Doctor Fate. The movie captured iconic defensive and offensive moves of the Justice Society’s leader during the momentous battle. In the end, the character took one for the team to ensure Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman survives.

However, director Jaume Collet-Serra hinted Doctor Fate could return in the DCU. What appears to be his end may just be a beginning of a different way of existing for the character. Collet-Serra shared that the character can possibly appear in future DC movies. This is because of a special ace that Doctor Fate has. According to him, Doctor Fate is “a bit like Obi-Wan Kenobi who dies in the first Star Wars and yet appears in every Star Wars. So, we’ll all see what happens.”
Does this actually mean that Kent Nelson, also known as Doctor Fate, is now a Force presence? As the Helmet of Nabu has chosen Hawkman as its next helmer, does it mean he could also commune with Nelson?
Even producer Beau Flynn shared:
Not everything is as it seems.
In his fight with Sabbac, it appears that the only part of him that perished is his physical form. His body. That is, if we are to interpret what the director and the producer means. Doctor Fate’s ‘being’ still exists.

I think the door is open. I honestly have no idea where this will go.
As the movie’s producer who has fought for the production to see the light of day, star the Rock tweets:
Dr Fate is one of my favorites too and you will see more of him. I promise.
The Rock did promise that DC is in a new era that listens to fans now. We do hope that everything comes together finally for the studio. Fans have long wanted to see their favorites on screen. And at the moment, more and more take to social media to express their appreciation.
