Man Of Steel 2 Fan Trailer Imagines Fight With Black Adam

A fan-made Man Of Steel 2 trailer is online showing Henry Cavill’s confrontation with the Rock’s Black Adam. Perhaps it is a way to come into terms about Cavill ending his time as Superman. Or at least, give us a look at what we could have had after his cameo in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam.

The trailer has been available for a month. Most likely, Screen Culture gained inspiration to create the trailer due to the overall excitement that the Black Adam cameo ignited. Just back in November, DC fans were so happy to see and welcome Cavill back as Superman. And his message that fans’ patience will be rewarded was a bright ray of hope for what is to come.

Comments on the uploaded video still have hope in actually seeing an official trailer someday. But now, with DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, there will be a new Last Son of Krypton. Cavill has since made it official that he is no longer Superman after all. Furthermore, he now has Warhammer 40,000 on his pipeline.

The trailer that Screen Culture uploaded picks up from the events of Black Adam. They combined scenes and lines from the Black Adam trailer with past scenes from Man of Steel. At the time of its upload, it added to the hype that Cavill’s Superman is coming very soon.

However, now that the tables have turned, it has become a glimpse of what could have been for Cavill’s Supes. Definitely it played up the promise of a Black Adam vs. Superman fight. It kept Johnson’s line that there is no one on the planet that can stop him. Well, that of course is true but only to an extent. Superman may be “on” the planet, but he is not “of” the planet.

Indeed, that fight would have been epic. The tease was really there in that 62-second video. The challenge is there from Black Adam and Superman accepts that challenge. Perhaps DC Studios will save this for Kingdom Come. Certainly, the bait-and-switch angered the fans. If not, this exists to stir the imagination. Nevertheless, it won’t heal those wounds.
