Loki Ignites Secret Wars on Disney Plus

The first episode of Loki on Disney Plus opened the doors to Secret Wars.

I initially scooped Secret Wars for the MCU on October 2019.

The Showbiz Cheat Sheet published a summary of my report then.

Jim Shooter wrote the original 1984 Secret Wars limited series.

Mike Zeck and Bob Layton illustrated the book.

Fans bought copies of Secret Wars in droves in 1984; its success inspired DC Comics to do the same with Crisis on Infinite Earths.

However, critics bashed Secret Wars for being a superficial toy tie-in.

On the contrary, it was an absolute blast.

Secret Wars is now considered a nostalgic landmark for Generation X comic-book fans.

In 2015, writer Jonathan Hickman remade the classic with twists of his own.

On October 2020, I leaked that Marvel Studios planned on combining the two versions.

Loki revealed the potential path for Marvel Studios will tweak Secret Wars.

Slight spoilers are about to drop for Loki.

In the episode, the Time Variance Authority’s mascot Miss Minutes explained to Loki about an unknown, epic battle.

“Long ago, there was a vast multiversal war,” she explained. “Countless unique timelines battled each other for supremacy.”

She is talking about a previous Secret Wars.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to interpret where Marvel Studios is headed.

In fact, the multiverse angle is exactly what I previously reported on October 2020.

I wrote:

The main foe is the Beyonder, and he will transport various MCU heroes and bad guys to different alternate Earths in the multiverse to fight one another. The planets become Battleworlds just like in the comic books.

Whether MCU head Kevin Feige keeps the Beyonder angle is unknown.

After all, Feige just dropped the first piece in the puzzle.

The succeeding pieces include Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Furthermore, Jameela Jamil has been cast on Disney Plus’ She-Hulk as the villainous Titania.

Titania debuted in Secret Wars No. 3.

We covered Everything Always‘ Titania scoop on April 30.

Miss Minutes did not drop a mere Easter Egg in Loki; rather, it’s a nuclear bomb.

Moreover, it will explode in a few years.
