Keanu Reeves wants to play Batman from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns.
With the upcoming DC animated movie DC League of Super-Pets, people ask if Keanu Reeves will be keen on portraying Batman in live action. Keanu Reeves’ newest big-screen role only uses his voice for Batman.
It’s no surprise though that the Matrix and John Wick star is also a fan of the DC character. More than a handful of actors over the years have played Batman. In fact, at present, there are arguably three active versions of Batman at Warner Bros. Discovery.

The second is Ben Affleck from Zack Snyder’s DC movies.
The third is Robert Pattinson from Matt Reeves disconnected universe of The Batman.
Answering the question inside everyone’s mind, Keanu Reeves said:
I love Batman as a character and I love him in the comic books, in the films, so to get the opportunity to voice — to play — Batman was awesome. It’s always been a dream, but [Robert] Pattinson’s got Batman right now and he’s doing awesome. Maybe down the road, maybe when they need an older Batman.
In other words, Miller’s aging Clint Eastwood take in The Dark Knight Returns. No, Reeves didn’t mention The Dark Knight Returns. However, The Dark Knight Returns is the first thing that many fans think of with Old Man Batman.
Without a doubt, Reeves would rock The Dark Knight Returns. Nevertheless, Reeves isn’t teasing Miller’s iconic graphic novel here. After all, Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice used elements from Miller’s work. It’ll take years before DC Films even considers adapting it.

Indeed, Batman is a formidable character that grabs generations. Batman thrives in various genres as well. It’s not hard to imagine Reeves in the costume and taking on any Batman. However, he is also realistic in terms of the present stories running for the character on live-action projects.
Batman is the most multidimensional hero in the DC comics roster of heroes.
Among DC heroes, creators interpret Batman in the most numerous ways. He is the assassin and the protector. Moreover, he punishes yet he submits to authorities. On the other hand, he can also exchange laughter with the Joker himself while otherwise being deadly serious.

One day, DC Films could grant Reeves his wish. Reeves is 57 now. Perhaps in his mid-60s, DC Films would proceed with The Dark Knight Returns.
