Keanu Reeves has reportedly joined the MCU. There are no official announcements made from Marvel Studios. However, it has been reported, Keanu Reeves is to portray a role not for a streaming series but a movie for theatrical release.

For years fans have hoped to see Keanu Reeves as part of an upcoming MCU project. Many have speculated different possible roles he could take on. Even MCU mastermind Kevin Feige himself has shared that they are always in talks with the actor for any project coming up.

Quoted in our article last November 2021, Feige stated:

We talk to him for almost every film we make. We talk to Keanu Reeves about. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.

Keanu Reeves is on a different level in the entertainment industry. It’s no doubt that a project with his name would mean a blockbuster hit at the box office. Never mind the pandemic restrictions. Even more so now that protocols are steadily allowing more people on theater seats.

Geekosity previously cited possible roles for Keanu Reeves when the time came to sign the deal. Rumor has it that one of the cited characters is actually what he is taking on. The list cites Ghost Rider, The Sentry, and Corsair.

Marvel Studios will definitely look at a theatrical release for someone like Keanu Reeves. And more likely, signing him on will mean more than one movie participation. If he is to join an ensemble that has yet to establish its own trilogy, that narrows the possibility further. Fans continue to imagine Keanu Reeves as either Wolverine or Ghost Rider.

The two characters mentioned above can be considered pivotal for the MCU. Ghost Rider in Blade can usher in the Midnight Suns or the supernatural line-up of MCU storylines. Wolverine can actually mean the broader scope of characters including Marvel’s mutants.

But what if Reeves does not want to be a hero? What if he will be the ultimate big bad of the new MCU?

Whichever he may choose, Reeves on to the MCU is one of the best developments so far for all parties. And the audiences will definitely love it. They will be able to deliver that to the big screen the best way they can.

Will we hear Keanu Reeves’ “whoa!” on an MCU scene?
