Emilia Clarke Abigail Brand MCU Secret Invasion

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke might joining the MCU by playing Abigail Brand in Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion for Disney Plus.

According to Variety, Marvel Studios cast Emilia Clarke in an undisclosed role in the show.

Clarke joins an impressive cast led by Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman.

Chloe Bennet was rumored to return as Quake from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; however, that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Secret Invasion was originally an eight-issue comic book and crossover storyline in 2008.

The Secret Invasion of the title refers to the Skrulls.

Writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby introduced the shape-shifting aliens in Fantastic Four No. 2 in 1962.

The Skrulls debuted in the MCU in 2019’s Captain Marvel.

The live-action version of the Skrulls with Mendelsohn as Talos added a twist to the once-villainous characters.

Captain Marvel portrayed them as benevolent extraterrestrial refugees.

Secret Invasion, on the other hand, will expose the evil ones in their population.

In September 2019, I scooped that the Skrull queen Veranke will appear in Captain Marvel 2.

My sources revealed then that Zawe Ashton could play her; however, the possibility exists that Colman may have gotten the role.

Marvel Studios is known for having actors audition for multiple roles.

An insider leaked that Emilia Clarke is most likely Abigail Brand.

In the comic books, Brand is the green-haired commanding officer of S.W.O.R.D.

If that sounds familiar, WandaVision featured S.W.O.R.D., the X-Files-esque intelligence agency.

The source added that:

“Marvel Studios wants Emilia Clarke as a regular on their S.W.O.R.D. regular TV series for Disney Plus.”

I haven’t been able to find anyone else to confirm this rumor.

Nevertheless, the puzzle pieces add up.

I doubt they would cast Emilia Clarke but then disguise her in Skrull make-up or CGI.

In the comics, the Skrulls stole the identities of various Marvel heroes, including Spider-Woman.

Sony may own the live-action rights to Spider-Woman, but Disney retains her secret identity of Jessica Drew.

Is it possible Clarke is Drew?

One thing is for sure: She’s not Mephisto.
