Emily Blunt Teases John Krasinski In The Fantastic Four

Emily Blunt not-so-bluntly gave renewed hope to fans eagerly anticipating John Krasinski’s return as Reed Richards in MCU’s The Fantastic Four. In an interview at the red carpet of The English premiere at the 2022 London Film Festival, the actor shushed further questions. The gesture only gave renewed fire to the fan-cast-come-true for Mr. Fantastic himself.

Even though the event was for her latest movie, the actress, wife to actor/director John Krasinski, graciously answered the marvelous question. Let’s face it. Every now and then someone, somewhere, will always ask about Marvel from the couple. Time and again news breaks out that at some point either Blunt or Krasinski, or in The Fantastic Four‘s case, both of them, have MCU offers. Some say negotiations are still ongoing.

Naturally, since John Krasinski already appeared as Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans wish to see him again as the character. It was just perfect. Until he became blue spaghetti. But that is not the main universe of the MCU. He can always come back.

Krasinski is always in the list of actors to consider for the role. Not to mention that Blunt has also appeared on the prospective list of actors to portray The Invisible Woman, Sue Storm. Power couple!

Still, many reports have circled that Blunt made it clear about her apprehension for contracts tying actors to a role. Furthermore, she didn’t like the requirement or expectation to be in several projects. Neither is she ready to consider the idea of the two of them being a package deal for a contract.

However, we know what is going on. As soon as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that the company now keeps their actors more like on a project-by-project basis, Blunt’s apprehensions could have changed since. There was even a time that Krasinski’s name got connected to possible directors for the future MCU movie. More developments will be public soon enough.

But just what did Blunt mean with the coy shush?

HeyUGuys on YouTube asked after segueing to a Marvel-related question of how it felt like to get the call from the studio. She smiled, nodded and answered:

I was really happy for him because I think he’s a really huge fan. And I understand why it’s such a kind of ardent, passionate religion for people. It’s a huge part of our cinematic history now. So, he was thrilled. He was thrilled.

When the interviewer mentioned we all hope to see him again, she followed it up with:

Well, I hope so. Who knows? You never know. (Shushing further questions with her finger to her lips and quickly turning away).

Could she also be considering herself to be part of ‘cinematic history’? Could she be thrilled, too?

Is it possible that she could have just practically confirmed Krasinski is up for another appearance as the head of the Fantastic Four? This time, not just a cameo but one of the main characters of the movie. She could have easily said “No” right? Right? Pieces are slowing ‘stretching’ to place and updates will be more ‘visible’ soon. Hope is ‘solid’ as we keep it ‘flaming’ in anticipation.
