Disney Plus’ Obi-Wan Kenobi will have an opening scene that focuses on key Star Wars history. Just what Star Wars historical moment are they pertaining to? Possible spoilers ahead so beware.

Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place ten years after Revenge of the Sith. Anakin Skywalker’s transformation into Darth Vader claimed the lives of Padawans or younglings in The Jedi Order. The key Star Wars historical moment is the enactment of Emperor Palpatine’s Order 66.

Apparently, we will see two Jedi Masters fighting off clone troopers while they protect their Padawan learners. They ended up sacrificing themselves to secure their students’ safe escape.

This opening scene was revealed from a set of footage shown in Burbank. The footage showed the Jedi Temple from the Star Wars prequels. Sources confirm the scene in the footage is indeed the opening for the Disney Plus’ Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Furthermore, the report added it could align with Grogu’s memory in The Book of Boba Fett. However, this does not mean Grogu will appear.

It seems that a huge part of the series will also shed light into the two Padawan learners and their path with the Force. There are reports that imply Obi-Wan Kenobi will introduce a Jedi who searches for him. Moreover, the show will also introduce the members of the Sith Inquisitors.

There’s an existing legend that the Jedi actually studied both sides of the Force but those who tread the path more on the Dark side under the leadership of Ajunta Pall conducted activities, mutations and explored the possibility of immortality. These are actions that the council and those that tread the Light side deemed blasphemous.

Internal battle ensued for years which led to the banishment of the defeated Dark Jedi. They then found the Sith civilization that is also Force-sensitive. Declaring themselves as the Dark Lords of the Sith, they amassed power that challenged the Jedi Order.

Based on the rumored opening scene for Obi Wan Kenobi, there’s the overarching theme of two paths in the Force and how it balances each other off. Sith Inquisitors are Force-sensitive beings. The Empire assigned them to hunt and eliminate existing Jedis after Order 66.

Obi Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is in Tatooine primarily to ensure young Luke Skywalker’s safety, hidden from the Emperor and the Sith Lord Vader. But previous Star Wars shows also feature him speaking with the young Jedi Ezra. This happened in Star Wars Rebels.

Perhaps Disney Plus’ Obi Wan Kenobi will also expound further on the lore of the Jedi and how the Force is truly balanced out.
