Director Shawn Levy promised fans that Deadpool 3 will be raw and R-rated like Ryan Reynolds’ previous efforts. In recent months, Deadpool 3 quickly became one of Marvel Studios’ most anticipated upcoming releases.
This isn’t at all surprising; after all, the first two were massive successes, critically and financially. Moreover, this marks Deadpool’s long-awaited introduction to the MCU after Disney acquired Fox. In addition, Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine. Without a doubt, expect box-office fireworks with the rude laughs. Multiple times, Jackman stated that 2017’s Logan was his final outing as the iconic character.

Nonetheless, Ryan Reynolds managed to convince his stubborn co-star to pick up the claws once again. So, it’s understandable why excitement for this movie is through the roof right now. However, some shared concerns that Disney-owned Marvel Studios will tone down the raunchy wit.
This won’t be the case, though. The franchise’s success mostly stems from its grotesque violence and adult humor. Furthermore, both MCU chief Kevin Feige and Disney CEO Bob Iger have even reassured fans that Deadpool 3 keeps its R-rated format.
Still, not everyone is convinced and probably won’t be until the first red band trailer releases online. That won’t be for a while yet as filming is set to commence early next year.
Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped more of those who’re working on the sequel to come forward to offer reassurance. This time it’s the director himself, Levy. Talking to Collider, Levy stressed that Deadpool 3 will maintain the same gritty tone as the previous entries. He even went on to give an update on the sequel’s ongoing development.

The Free Guy director explained:
We are writing, rewriting, developing, and prepping Deadpool every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day, it is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it’s very much a Deadpool movie. It’s that it’s so filled with self-awareness, and that makes in-writing very, very fun in a way that is unique to that franchise.
It’s actually incredible that there’s still questions surrounding Deadpool 3 after all these confirmations. If anything, it’s going to be the most hardcore outing yet for Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth. Especially with Jackman’s Wolverine on board to cause twice as much mayhem.
