The Indiana Jones trilogy is widely considered to be one of best movie trilogies out there. Although 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull didn’t reach the same creative heights as its predecessors, it was still an engaging box-office smash.

All were directed by Steven Spielberg, who was set to return for the next installment of the franchise. Nonetheless, he sadly had to step down as director the final sequel.

Instead, Logan director James Mangold took over. However, Steven Spielberg still remains credited as a producer on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Furthermore, with the film’s release date fast approaching, Disney held a special screening for executives.

Among those in attendance was Steven Spielberg himself, who recently gave his thoughts on the sequel.

I just had that experience two nights ago. Bob Iger had a screening for a lot of the Disney executives and I came to the screening along with the director James Mangold. Everybody loved the movie. It’s really, really a good Indiana Jones film. I’m really proud of what Jim has done with it.

When the lights came up I just turned to the group and said, ‘Damn! I thought I was the only one who knew how to make one of these.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be Ford’s last time playing the globe-trotting archeologist.

With how well Mangold wrapped up Hugh Jackman’s tenure as Wolverine, Indiana Jones’ final adventure is in good hands.
