Sasha Calle's Supergirl Movie Will Be Cancelled

Sasha Calle‘s Supergirl future received a somewhat positive update in a new report. Specifically, The Flash 2 script has been written, and Sasha Calle is in it. Granted, nothing is official yet. The Flash has to overcome a few obstacles first before that franchise continues. Without a doubt, The Flash has to win big at the box office.

The troubled production has to convince Warner Bros. Discovery all that money and headaches was worth it. Although WBD has kept star Ezra Miller out of the public spotlight to evade questions about their legal hassles, some amateur critics are bashing the movie on Rotten Tomatoes because they can’t stomach Miller. YouTube personality Syl Abdul called out a few of them on his State of the Fandom show.

A low Rotten Tomatoes score from reviewers could puncture the film as too many people rely on that to form opinions for them. Then again, it’s hard for anyone to trust DC, especially if Zack Snyder isn’t at the helm.

In any case, it’s been a long, bumpy road for this movie to say the least. As if all the behind the scenes drama wasn’t bad enough, the multiple felonies committed by Miller still linger yet that shouldn’t affect any opinions about the film itself. After all, Miller’s role as the scarlet speedster has been unaffected by their various antics over the past couple of years.

Miller underwent treatment for their mental health. Director Andy Muschietti recently made it perfectly clear that if a sequel is green lit, Miller won’t be recast. Moreover, the controversial actor will make an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere on June 12th.

Variety have revealed that Miller will keep a low profile while attending the event. This means that they will only pose for pictures and won’t be included in cast interviews. Smart move. No need for that baggage distract from the work itself.

Furthermore, a statement from someone close to the actor was released.

It read:

Ezra wants the movie to open and the conversation to be about the movie and not about Ezra, they are focused on their mental health and don’t want it to be transactional.

WBD seemingly has strong faith in The Flash as well as Miller’s ongoing recovery.

So much so that a sequel is being developed over as we speak. In addition, a script has already been written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick who also penned 2018’s Aquaman.

Details about this screenplay reveal that both Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl will make appearances. While the new DCU will have it’s own Batman, this could mean that Sasha Calle’s Supergirl could be sticking around, at least in this universe, which is the DCEU.

Even if she’s not going to be the DCU’s main Supergirl going forward, she’ll still exist via the DC multiverse.

So hopefully that means we can still see Sasha Calle reprise her role as the Girl of Steel in future projects. In other words, there’s still hope. Many have praised Calle’s performance in The Flash and want to see her again.

Nonetheless, it’s still up in the air as to whether or not this sequel will be officially green lit.

It all depends on how big of a success The Flash is.
