Michael B Jordan Wants To Return To Black Panther Franchise

Written By Kieran Bugg

Michael B Jordan recently addressed rumors of a potential return to the Black Panther franchise. Apart from Thanos, there’ve only been a few other MCU villains that have left an impact as big. One of them is Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Killmonger, who is undeniably among cinema’s all-time greatest antagonists.

Unlike other villains in the MCU, Killmonger was more sympathetic and his motives more understandable than his predecessors. The character met his demise towards the end of the first Black Panther film after being fatally wounded by T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman).

Moreover, Jordan would later reprise the role in the Marvel Studios’ animated series, What If…? Nevertheless, fans of the character are hoping that the actor will portray him again in live action.

With Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s release right around the corner, rumors surrounding a possible return are high. In addition, he also attended the film’s premiere last week further igniting gossip. Although he might’ve just been there to pay respects to Chadwick Boseman and support Ryan Coogler and the cast.

However, there’s still a sneaky suspicion that Jordan has a minor role in the film. Recently, the actor talked with ExtraTV about his upcoming film Creed III, which will also be his directorial debut.

Furthermore, Michael B. Jordan addressed the rumors floating about regarding his future in the MCU.

As with any actor who’s asked about their future in the franchise, Jordan played coy.

He said:

I don’t know if it’s a possibility. I mean, at one point or another, being able to be in the Marvel Universe was like a dream come true and if there was an opportunity for me to come back, of course I would. I’m not one of those guys like ‘oh no, I would never.’

He went on to praise Coogler for his work on the first film. In addition, he also offered praise to Marvel Studios for what they do as a whole. He continued:

Working with director Ryan Coogler, what we did on that first project and what Marvel does as a whole is something that, as a fan, as a nerd and geek that I am, I just love to see those movies and those characters come to life.

It seems pretty much given that he’ll return in some form or another in the MCU’s future. The most likely scenario is appearing in the ancestral plane as seen in the first film.
