Kelvin Miranda and Miles Ocampo have smashed No. 1 on the Netflix charts in the Philippines, topping U.S. films like I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Safe House, and Heat. Kelvin Miranda is an actor for the GMA Network in the Philippines.
Kelvin Miranda is no stranger to Netflix as well. In 2019, he starred in director Mikhail Red’s gripping, clever Netflix thriller Dead Kids. (Red is directing the live-action TV adaptation of Dreamwalker, my comic book with artist Noel Layon Flores.)
In 2021, I labeled Kelvin Miranda as “among the Philippines’ most promising young talents.”At the time, his portrayal of the super confident cook in GMA Public Affairs’ The Lost Recipe stood out on Philippine television; his cool swagger distinguished himself from his male peers.
Kelvin Miranda co-starred in GMA’s science-fiction drama Unica Hija (English: Only Daughter) in 2022 with Kate Valdez in a tour de force performance as multiple clones.

Miranda is reunited with Valdez in GMA’s latest action comedy, Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis (English: There’s No Tough Police to a Strong Wife).
Without a doubt, Miranda’s diverse roles reveal the depth of his acting range. Furthermore, they defined him as an actor who is willing to flex his talent in unpredictable projects.
In Missed Connections, Miranda plays a tech expert who becomes the object of Ocampo’s affection. It’s a quirky r0m-com with a hip, modern style. The official description reads:
A lonely young woman seeks the help of a website called Missed Connections – a forum that allows people to connect and find each other – to search for a man after what seems to be an unforgettable encounter.

Much of Ocampo’s acting work has been with GMA’s regional competitor ABS-CBN, where she began her career.
Thus, Missed Opportunities is among those rare projects featuring actors who’ve been with both companies.
