Dwayne Johnson Teases More Justice Society In The DCU

Dwayne Johnson hints that the DCU will add more Justice Society members. His Black Adam film introduced the Justice Society to the silver screen. Although the Justice Society appeared in various TV series like Stargirl, Black Adam became their theatrical debut.

To longtime DC Comics fans, the Justice Society’s inclusion was among Black Adam‘s highlights.

Without a doubt, it’s been a long wait. The Justice Society of America first appeared in All-Star Comics No. 3 in 1940. Writer Gardner Fox, artist Everett E. Hibbard, and editor Sheldon Mayer co-created the team.

Without a doubt, the group has historical significance. The Justice Society of America was the first superhero team. The initial line-up featured Doctor Fate, Hawkman, Hour-Man, the Spectre, the Sandman, the Atom, the Flash, and Green Lantern. Black Adam featured two of them: Doctor Fate and Hawkman.

Many praised Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate and Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman. Indeed, the casting was impressive. Henry Winkler portrayed the original Atom, Al Pratt, in a suprising cameo. It was a sweet homage to Golden Age DC Comics. Noah Centineo played his son, Atom Smasher.

The Justice Society’s DCU future remains a mystery. After all, the new DC Studios regime has its plans in a lead box that even Superman can’t peek through. Or so they say. In the meantime, Dwayne Johnson continuously excites followers with Henry Cavill and Justice Society updates. In other words, thanks to his support, we will see them again.

From his perspective, the DCU’s future is solid as a Rock.

On Twitter, Dwayne Johnson posted a video with fist-pumping news. He revealed:

Now we will build out the Black Adam brand, and we’ll build out the JSA. Doctor Fate, Cyclone, Hawkman, Atom Smasher. And keep in mind, for those of you who don’t know — and all you comic book fans, you guys know this — there are so many cool, badass superheroes and supervillains in the bible, in the pantheon of the DC universe. Just right there. So, we’re gonna dig into all that.

Dwayne Johnson knows that you don’t stir the imagination with the likes of Bat-Mite. There are numerous possibilities hinted at here, especially the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott.

Certainly, Black Adam was the most enjoyable DCU movie since Zack Snyder’s work. Unlike Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984, and The Suicide Squad, it felt like a DC comic book.
