DC Films plans to have Deathstroke face Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight. Initially, DC Films intended Joe Manganiello as a villain for Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie. However, Affleck left the project as its director. Afterward, Matt Reeves opted for his own Batman with Robert Pattinson. Manganiello’s Deathstroke did appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

On September 8, Geekosity founder Mikey Sutton revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery seeks to revive Ben Affleck’s Batman film. Moreover, Deathstroke is once again the antagonist. However, development is early. Given that, it’s doubtful contract discussions have started. In addition, sources revealed there were talks of Deathstroke possibly joining the Legion of Doom.

In fact, The Flash’s potential sequel could see the introduction of the Legion of Doom in the DCEU. To say that production for The Flash has been messy would be an understatement. Since it was first announced back in 2014, the movie has gone through several rewrites as well as directors.

In addition, there’s also the numerous legal troubles that have surrounded star Ezra Miller. Miller has since apologized for their erratic and downright disturbing behavior. Nonetheless, the impact of their actions is still felt.

Nonetheless, DC Films is brainstorming ideas for The Flash 2 should the movie prove to be a success.  One of them involves an infamous team of DC supervillains, the Legion of Doom. The group consists of the Justice League’s greatest foes. Superman’s greatest foe Lex Luthor founded and leads the team.

They first appeared in the 1978 TV cartoon Challenge of the Super Friends. The original lineup included classic villains such Bizarro, Black Manta, Brainiac, Captain Cold, Cheetah, Giganta, Gorilla Grodd, the Riddler, the Scarecrow, Sinestro, Solomon Grundy, and Toyman.

The Legion Of Doom have since gone on to appear in various DC Comics and TV shows. Whether or not Jesse Eisenberg will return as Luthor remains to seen. Nonetheless, the actor has recently expressed interest. Moreover, Jared Leto’s the Joker could also appear as a member.

Furthermore, Zack Snyder originally intended to have the team appear as in of his planned Justice League sequels. According to the movie’s original storyboards the line-up featured both old and new DCEU villains. The team in the scrapped sequel would’ve included Luthor, Dr. Poison, Black Manta, Ocean Master, Captain Cold and The Riddler.

It’s looking like DC Films could be resurrecting Snyder’s plans in a way. Using The Legion of Doom would be a surprising route for the studio to take with a Flash sequel. After all, the character has his own team of colorful supervillains: The Rogues.

If this pulls through, the Flash will have his hands full. Deathstroke is bad enough.
