Venom Headed for MCU as Villain in Spider-Man 4

Venom will be the villain in Spider-Man 4 as Marvel Studios takes creative control over Tom Hardy’s symbiote. I initially scooped his appearance in the MCU on September 2019 in Lords of the Longbox. Watch the video here beginning at 6:45.

Spider-Man meeting Venom on the silver screen has been regularly speculated on.

However, the question of which cinematic universe it’ll be set in remained a mystery.

Until now.

After a screening, word exploded on social media about the post-credit scene in Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Michael Roman of the Everything Always YouTube channel provided the finest coverage of the rumor.

The following contains major spoilers about Venom: Let There Be Carnage; I warn you now.

According to Roman, Eddie Brock (Hardy) and Venom are at a beach house after Carnage’s defeat.

They watch the TV footage of J. Jonah Jameson (J. K. Simmons) revealing Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is Spider-Man.

This was the shock finale of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

In other words, Venom is now in the MCU.

Although both Spider-Man: Far From Home and Venom: Let There Be Carnage are owned by Sony, only one is a Marvel Studios production.

Furthermore, Spider-Man: Far From Home is firmly set within Kevin Feige’s MCU.

The upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home provides the answers; nevertheless, the multiverse misadventures of Disney Plus’ Loki is tied to it.

Venomous History and Future

On October 20, 2019, I reported that Holland’s Spider-Man and Hardy’s Venom will team up in Marvel Studios’ Secret Wars.

Insiders claim that is still the case.

Both are discussed to meet again in Secret Wars.

On December 25, 2020, I revealed that Spider-Man will face darker, more violent foes in Parker’s college years. I included Venom in that list.

Feige himself teased a Spider-Man/Venom film months later on July 15, 2021.

Feige acknowledged:

Having been at Marvel for 20 years I wouldn’t dismiss anything, I wouldn’t rule anything out. When and how and where remains to be seen.

On February 2, 2021, I wrote that, “Sony plans on including footage that hints at Spider-Man’s existence in Tom Hardy’s world” in the Venom sequel.

As the original person who broke that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were in the film on October 2019, it’s thrilling to see this unfold

I’m told that Venom will briefly appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home to set up the fourth movie.

Venom has been more of an anti-hero in his Sony franchise.

However, his MCU debut will have his eyes focused on Spider-Man in a more villainous fashion.
