Arrow star Stephen Amell discloses he is still open to return to his role as Oliver Queen if the story requires it.
Stephen Amell last appeared in the final episode of Arrow. which is titled “Fadeout.”
This is when his character, Oliver Queen died, which also showed that he has a happy afterlife with Felicity Smoak. Arrow ended on January 28, 2020.
By his words, after two years and a bit of space from the show, Stephen Amell misses Arrow.
In a recent interview with Den of Geek, Stephen Amell shares:
What means a great deal to me is we did get to control the ending. That happens so rarely. To have that conversation with Greg Berlanti during the sixth season, and to decide that seven and then a truncated version of the eighth season would wrap up the story, it’s just such a blessing, because we got to do it the right way. We got to say goodbye to people in the right way. In my opinion, the way it should end for any superhero without superpowers is in the ground. Although I think Oliver just turned into energy. So you know, never say never.
With the above statement, Stephen Amell may already have toyed with different scenarios on how his character can come back. Superheroes have many ways of getting revived or coming back in some form or another. If the ongoing series in CW, namely The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, and Superman & Lois, would be needing the presence of Oliver Queen or Arrow, then Amell is ready on board.
He added on the possibility of returning to the Arrowverse:
Oh, sure. I owe so much to the people of DC, The CW, and Warner Bros. Television. I love the character so much and only love it more now that it’s coming up on two years since we wrapped the show….But having a little space now, I saw that I miss it. I do look back very, very, very fondly on it….Listen, I’m the namesake. So if I can ever be of any any help, if I can be of service to the Arrowverse in any way, shape or form, or better still take it to a new place, which I think would be the more interesting route to go, be that in a limited capacity or on a different platform, maybe one where we could show blood, that’d be really cool.
If the CW wants him back, they actually can since The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow can travel through time. With how the comics has been set up, there are multiple ways for this to happen.
Stephen Amell is even up to returning for an Arrow limited series which he revealed to Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast Inside of You.
They can also have him back as The Spectre, since he did transform into that during Crisis of Infinite Earths. The Spectre is considered to be one of the most powerful beings in the DC universe. He practically has the power of a god who can manipulate matter, energy, space and time. So, there is no limit to what The Spectre can do.
There is nothing stopping Stephen Amell returning in the Arrowverse; he can return in different ways even. The only thing he needs is the opportunity.
