Marvel Legends Disney+ Wave 6 Inch Scarlet Witch Action Figure

Hasbro demonstrates their own great concept of “Wandavision” with this beautiful rendition of the Scarlet Witch.

*Possible Spoilers*

After seeing her brother and love murdered, Wanda Maximoff creates a new reality for herself.

Using her incredible powers, Wanda manipulates an entire town into an idyllic sitcom based community, complete with an apparently re-animated Vision as her husband and twin sons.

Unbeknownst to Wanda, there’s another witch in town, subtly influencing and guiding Wanda for her own sinister purposes.

As events unfold and Agatha Harkness reveals herself to Wanda, the pair battle with the fate of Westview and Wanda’s very powers at stake.

As the battle rages, Agatha realizes she’s not only outclassed but is, in reality, facing a most terrifying foe, the Scarlet Witch.

Wanda comes complete with two pairs of hands; one pair flesh toned in a hex casting pose, the other a translucent reddish/pink, also in hex casting poses, two mystical translucent pink energy “tendrils,” which we have seen multiple times in different colors, and a wing piece to the Captain America Build-A-Figure Wing Assembly.

Accessories in this wave were fairly minimal, with the exception of the Baron Zemo figure, which we’ll discuss in another review.

The Marvel Legends Disney+ Wave Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is a beautifully rendered figure. She is in a previously used body mold, but the sculpt work on the legs and arms does look new to me. (If anybody has seen these parts previously, drop us a line and let me know.)

Her waist jacket is soft and relatively pliable, but unfortunately hinders leg articulation, which we will discuss soon. I’m super impressed with the paint apps on this figure.

Her head sculpt is brand new and the photo real tech allows us to have our very own Elizabeth Olsen figure.

I’m so pleased with the accuracy that these figures are achieving and just marvel *no pun intended, at how far toys have come since I was a child.

The flesh tones on her face, arms, and hands match very well, giving her consistency throughout and the blacks and reds on her body and waistcoat are evenly applied, with no hiccups or mistakes, at least on mine.

I really am impressed with her hair sculpt and paint as well. The level of depth, without any wash, is astounding and gives her hair a very voluminous look.

From the silver belt buckle, to the big brown eyes, the level of paint detail on this figure is truly enjoyable. So far, this wave is easily lofting the banner in terms of sharp looking, highly screen-accurate figures.

The Marvel Legends Disney+ Wanda (Scarlet Witch) has, what would typically for this female figure, be solid articulation.

Her head turns side to side and can move forward fairly well. Obviously, the hair limits how far she can look up, but doesn’t really bother me as much as I thought it might.

Her shoulders move very well, rotate and raise out into an excellent “T” pose. Her upper arms will swivel, her elbows are pinless and bend in very nicely and her wrists on both sets of hands hinge and pivot.

The hinges on one hand move palm up/down, while the other hinge has “roll the dice” motion.

Her diaphragm cut pivots and tilts, but as far as crunching movement is concerned… there is virtually none.

She has an adequate waist pivot, her legs will split… unfortunately, the soft material of her waistcoat isn’t soft enough to allow the legs to stay split.

You can kick them forward nicely, she has upper thigh cut for swivel, double jointed knees which bend really far back… except for the limits imposed by the coat and ankles that hinge up and down and have a really nice rocker motion.

I’m very pleased with this wave from Hasbro’s Marvel Legends line.

At the price point of around $20, Wanda is an affordable, necessary addition to any collection, especially with the White Vision.

Unfortunately, in spite of the beautiful sculpt and paint apps, the limits to the articulation drop Wanda’s rating to 3.9  toyboxes out of 5.

You can find your own Disney+ Wave Legends figures at the Big Bad Toy Store.

Thanks for checking out the toybox and, until next time… Geek Out!
