Marvel Studios’ Werewolf by Night will be howling at the moon on Disney Plus.

Thanks to Disney Plus, Marvel Studios can now expand their universe in ways they never could before.

Characters can make the jump from movies into television like what we’ve already seen with WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki.

Furthermore, Marvel Studios has recently made the jump from live-action to animation with What If…? Just like that series, the possibilities are infinite.

In addition, they don’t have to be regular shows, either.

A Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special is scheduled to be released during the Christmas period before Vol. 3’s theatrical release.

Now it looks like the Guardians won’t be the only MCU characters getting their own holiday special on Disney Plus.

Multiple outlets are now reporting that Marvel Studios now has a Halloween one-shot in the works.

This one is centered around the supernatural superhero Werewolf by Night.

They are looking for a Latino actor to lead the cast.

Moreover, production should begin in early 2022.

What’s interesting about this casting call is that it sounds like they’re casting for the second incarnation of the relatively unknown Werewolf by Night.

Jake Gomez debuted last October in his own solo comic series.

The original, more established version, that hardcore Marvel comics fans have come to know, is Jack Russell. He debuted in Marvel Spotlight No. 2 in 1972.

Russell was a descendant of the mystically-altered group of humans called Lycanthropes.

In this new Werewolf by Night, Gomez is a member of the Hopi Native American tribe whose family has been cursed with lycanthropy.

They come into conflict with the Life Pharmaceutical company who has captured and exploited members of the tribe.

Nevertheless, it’s still possible that Marvel could utilize both versions of the character much like what Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did with a brief scene between the Robbie Reyes and Johnny Blaze versions of Ghost Rider.

That was used to set up a planned spin-off series for Reyes, which unfortunately was scrapped.

Geekosity‘s founder and Editor-in-Chief Mikey Sutton originally scooped that Werewolf by Night will be making his MCU debut very soon on August 25, 2020.

Moreover, he will be part of a team of other occult heroes such as Blade, Moon Knight, and Ghost Rider.

Moon Knight’s upcoming Disney Plus series will plant the seeds for the team, the Midnight Sons.
