Hugh Jackman Teased MCU Return as Wolverine

Hugh Jackman teased a possible return as Wolverine in the MCU twice in his official Instagram account.

The first shot is Wolverine fan art from BossLogic.

BossLogic illustrated a close-up of Wolverine’s muscular arm, his claws unsheathed.

The second photo, though, delivers the money shot.

Hugh Jackman stands next to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

Hugh Jackman posted both images in his Instagram story without explanation.

He crashed the Internet.

Celebrities don’t publish such intriguing pictures without a reason; after all, there is a publicity machine behind them.

Did Hugh Jackman just reveal his MCU debut?

On April 14, I scooped that Hugh Jackman wanted to see a script before completely retiring as Wolverine.

2017’s Logan cemented Hugh Jackman’s legacy as Wolverine.

However, that erases the opportunity of sharing the screen with MCU co-stars.

For Marvel Studios, Hugh Jackman’s absence in the MCU is a missed opportunity.

Moreover, recasting Wolverine so soon would be a difficult task.

After all, there’s that lingering “what if?” of Hugh Jackman in the MCU.

While these photos cannot confirm Hugh Jackman has signed with Marvel Studios, they shouldn’t be dismissed as a random joke or even trolling.

Let’s not forget Jamie Foxx announced he was coming back as Electro on his Instagram, too.

Hugh Jackman’s selfie with Feige is apparently from 2013; the actor certainly looks younger.

But they are conscious of everything they post. It’s never random.

In other words, it’s not about when the picture was taken; it’s when it was published.

The timing of these images provokes thought and speculation.

Moreover, they generate widespread excitement. They lit people’s imaginations.

I reached out to sources if they had any inside information about Hugh Jackman’s IG posts.

Unfortunately, they provided no answers. They dug under rocks as well.

So what’s next?

Hugh Jackman could either not comment at all; it wouldn’t be a shocker for him to ignore the social-media explosion this generated.

There’s also the possibility of him denying anything significant with it.

If so, I’m not buying it.

Hugh Jackman may troll Ryan Reynolds, but I don’t see him doing that to the fans.

Loki, with its multiverse variants, opened the gates for Hugh Jackman to be Wolverine again without tarnishing Logan.

While it’s unlikely that Hugh Jackman will cameo in Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness remains a possibility.
