Gal Gadot Could Play The Borg Queen In Star Trek 4

A new rumor claims Gal Gadot is in talks for a new Star Trek movie, possibly as The Borg Queen. This is welcome news because just a few months ago, J.J. Abrams’ fourth Star Trek movie lost its release date. After that, Matt Shakman jumped off the project in favor of The Fantastic Four.

Giant Freakin Robot writes that Gal Gadot is currently holding meetings for a Star Trek project. While their source did not confirm whether it is Abrams’ sequel, it’s the only film project that is likely. Unless, Paramount has removed the fourth movie in favor of another that they haven’t made public yet.

The actress has kept herself quite busy after Wonder Woman 1984 and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, both released last year.

Gal Gadot starred in Red Notice with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds in a movie exclusively streamed on Netflix. Even though it scored only 36% from critics in Rotten Tomatoes, the audience scored the movie at a high 92%.

Then she returned to the big screen for Death on the Nile. Which then got 62% critics rating on the Tomatometer and 82% score on verified audience rating. Still during a pandemic, the movie grossed $130 million worldwide from a $90 million budget. Some analysts say the movie just hit its break-even point after post-production marketing.

Still, Gadot is one of the industry actors whom audiences know and love to see in theaters. Thus, it won’t be unlikely for her to enter another franchise to her belt after DC’s Wonder Woman.

Should she join Abrams’ next Star Trek, she will be joining cast regulars. However, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, John Cho, Karl Urban, and Simon Pegg aren’t officially on board yet.

There is also the possibility that Gadot will be taking on a villainous role in the franchise. Immediately, characters that have the leadership status from an opposing race come to mind. The article cited she could either be The Borg Queen or a Romulan Princess. Definitely, the actress commands attention on screen fit for royalty. Neither will she fall behind when scenes demanding stunts come up.

Gadot is already looking forward to a busy schedule in the near future. So far Paramount has no confirmation regarding her in the Star Trek franchise.
