DC Films is developing a Trinity film with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. For those who don’t know, the Trinity is basically DC Comics’ three biggest superheroes. However, they’re not exactly a team. Rather, writer Kurt Busiek had them join forces in a 2008 comic-book series, Trinity.
Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman form the Trinity. According to sources, Warner Bros. Discovery wants an epic adventure that unites Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, and Henry Cavill’s Superman. To WBD CEO David Zaslav, these icons form the heart of the DCEU.

Audiences saw the Trinity in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Obviously, they all appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League as well. But a Trinity movie is different. Specifically, such a project would just focus on them against a mutual foe. There’d be no other Justice League members.
Insiders have stated that Wonder Woman 3 could be that Trinity film. After all, Wonder Woman: Trinity sounds perfect. But we’ve yet to confirm this. In January 2021, I scooped that Wonder Woman 3 will bring the character back to her roots: Themyscira. In addition, I revealed the villain is the sorceress Circe.
At the time, sources told us it was likely director Patty Jenkins’ final one in the franchise. For an ending, it made sense.
But that might no longer be the case. Especially after Lucasfilm grounded her Rogue Squadron movie.

Now Jenkins has finished the script for Wonder Woman 3. While rumors persist of a Trinity film, it might be a separate project. Critics and fans slammed Wonder Woman 1984. Certainly, Jenkins managed to pull off the impossible. She actually made a movie set during the ’80s with barely any of the groundbreaking music of the era.
Zaslav has placed the spotlight on the Trinity. Gadot, Affleck and Cavill will appear in multiple films. For example, all three joined The Flash. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom added Affleck.
Zaslav will use his home-run hitters. He won’t leave them on the sidelines. But the three in one movie? The box-office potential raises expectations. Massive.
Superman. Batman. Wonder Woman. Boom. Billions? Bank on it.
