Venom 3’s working title has reportedly been revealed and it possibly teases who the sequel’s main villain could be.
Surprising everyone, 2018’s Venom turned out to be a roaring success for Sony Pictures. Upon release, the movie was met with a divided reception from critics and fans.
Critic reviews were mostly negative whilst general audiences had a more positive reaction. Tom Hardy’s double performance as Eddie Brock and Venom received praise from both sides.

In addition, the comedic chemistry between the symbiotic pair was considered Venom’s biggest highlight. Many claimed that the film’s plot was incoherent and messy.
Nonetheless, the iconic anti-hero’s first solo film managed to earn a staggering $856.1 million worldwide. To no one’s surprise, Sony immediately green lit a sequel which released three years later.
Much like it’s predecessor, Venom: Let There Be Carnage released to mixed reviews. The plot was considered to be less dull than the first movie but sadly suffered due a much shorter runtime.
However this didn’t diminish the anticipation for the movie after the first one’s colossal success. Furthermore, the sequel finally brought Venom’s more grotesque and brutal rival Carnage to the big screen.
Alongside Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson’s portrayal of Cletus Kassidy and Carnage was believed to be the film’s strongest aspect. Moreover, the movie proved to be another massive hit for the studio in spite of the still rampant COVID-19 pandemic.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage managed to gross $506.9 million worldwide. A third film is currently in active development and is scheduled to be released in the coming years.
In addition, Tom Hardy has teased that this will be his final time portraying the character. A working title for this upcoming third instalment has reportedly emerged online.
Moreover, if it’s accurate it could give us a good idea of who the main villain will be. According to The Cosmic Circus, Venom 3 is being produced under the name Orwell.

Comic book readers and Venom fans will probably recognise this name. In the 1992 storyline Venom: Lethal Protector, a character called Orwell Taylor played a key role in the plot.
After Venom kills his son, Orwell swears vengeance against Eddie Brock. It’s possible that Venom 3 could be adapting this story.
