A Nomad TV series starring Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson is rumoured to be in development over at Marvel Studios.
Back when he was cast, no would’ve thought Chris Evans would become one of the MCU’s greatest casting decisions. In fact, many believed that he wasn’t the right fit for Captain America after seeing him as the Human Torch.
Nonetheless Evans convinced the world that he was the only man for the job the minute we saw him onscreen. Much like Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans was the definition of a perfect comic book movie casting.
Due to his roles in both the MCU and Fox’s Fantastic Four movies, he became close friends with Stan Lee. Moreover, even Kevin Feige himself went as far as to compare Evans portrayal of Cap to Christopher Reeve’s Superman.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Feige offered high praise for the actor saying:
“He’s a reluctant star, but I think he’s become—and I’ve said this to him—for as amazing as all of our actors are at embodying these characters, every single one of them, he’s one that reminds me, alongside Christopher Reeve, as just like ‘these are the characters.’”
The Captain America movies are often considered to be the best solo films in the MCU. However, it looks like Evans’ journey as Marvel’s star spangled superhero has ultimately reached its end.
Avengers: Endgame saw the conclusion for three of the original six Avenger’s character arcs. While Iron Man and Black Widow both died, Captain America went back to the 1940’s and retired with Peggy Carter.
In addition, he also handed down his shield to his longtime friend and ally, The Falcon. Seeing him pass on the mantle to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson was a bittersweet moment.
However fans are still hopeful that Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers in some shape or form. Whether that be as Captain America or his other comic book persona Nomad is of no concern.
They just want to see him back.
Well if this new rumour is to be believed then we’ve got some good news. According to a post on the Marvel Studios Reddit page, a Nomad TV series is being planned for Disney Plus.
Furthermore it will star Evans as Steve Rogers and longtime co-star Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. Both will serve as producers as well as the main stars.
Given that both are good friends in real life and have worked on multiple projects before it’s no surprise. The Reddit post claims it’ll be a multiversal series which could explain Johansson’s return.

Plus the story will follow Steve’s mission to return the infinity stones to their rightful timelines as mentioned in Endgame. Fans have been hoping to see what happened on this journey.
Particularly to see Cap find out that his arch nemesis is The Red Skull is still alive on Vormir. Nomad’s tone will be more mature compared to other MCU outings with less comedy.
Marvel is hoping to experiment with a more serious approach to their films and TV series. Here’s hoping this series will happen.
