Melissa Benoist recently wished one of her fans a Happy Birthday in a sweet video message where she also addressed the possibility of reprising her role as Supergirl. In the end the Arrowverse certainly had its flaws but there’s no denying that the franchise hit the bullseye when it came to casting their iconic characters.
Particularly Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl who were the Arrowverse’s holy trinity of heroes. Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist all left an indelible mark on each of their respective character’s legacies.

Moreover, each actor has also expressed great interest in potentially reprising their roles should the opportunity ever present itself. For many, they’ll always be the definitive iterations of Oliver Queen, Barry Allen and Kara Zor-El.
In addition, certain story elements and supporting characters that were originally introduced in their individual shows have since gone on to become part of DC Comics lore. The first few seasons of Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl were tremendous hits and are widely regarded as some of best that DC TV shows has to offer.
Unfortunately, all three suffered a huge drop in quality in terms of writing and CGI with only Arrow making somewhat of a recovery. Nonetheless, the Arrowverse maintained a strong and loyal fanbase.
Supergirl actress Melissa Benoist recently sent one of her fans a Happy Birthday video message through her Cameo page. Furthermore, Benoist also teased the possibility of her once again donning the red cape.
In this video message, the Supergirl star said:
“So happy to hear that you’re a fan of the show and my character. I love playing Supergirl. That’s so cool you grew up watching the shows. They were really really fun to work on. Who knows if I may put on the suit again? We’ll see. I have one that I sneakily took when we ended the show. Don’t tell anyone. This is a secret. A big one, actually. But yeah, I do have a suit in my attic, and I would love to play the character again. We’ll see what happens.”

A Supergirl solo movie is currently in development for the first chapter of James Gunn’s DCU which will be based on the Woman Of Tomorrow storyline by Tom King. It’s likely that we’ll see a new actress take on the role for this upcoming film but that doesn’t necessarily close the door on a potential return for Melissa Benoist.
Her version of the Girl of Steel still exists in the forever expanding DC multiverse.
