James Bond reboot has reportedly added another candidate to it’s ongoing search for the next actor to portray the character.
Much like Doctor Who, the James Bond franchise has had more than one actor to take on the titular role. Daniel Craig has portrayed the character for over 15 years across five films.
Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die. One of which is the only James Bond movie to make over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Craig is also the longest serving actor to play the world’s greatest secret agent. With Daniel Craig’s long tenure as the cinematic icon now over, the hunt for the next James Bond is underway.
Even before Craig’s last Bond movie (No Time To Die) premiered, various famous names have been rumoured to replace him. These included the likes of Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Idris Elba.
In addition, we previously reported that a new contender for the role had emerged. Known for his villainous role in the hit BBC drama Happy Valley, James Norton recently found himself as a frontrunner.
However, he’s not the only up and coming actor who’s recently found themselves thrown into the mix. According to the British news outlet Express, 32-year old, English actor Paapa Essiedu is now the bookie’s favourite.
Essiedu is know for his roles in popular British TV shows like Gangs of London and I May Destroy You. Gangs Of London being a gritty crime drama and I May Destroy You being a limited comedy series.
Moreover, he was even nominated for a BAFTA Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for his performance in the latter. Furthermore, he’s also set to appear in the upcoming sixth season of the universally acclaimed anthology series Black Mirror.
Both Paapa Essiedu and James Norton now stand as the two favourites to replace Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. Odds on who could win the role are currently in Essiedu’s favour.

Paapa Essiedu – 3/1
Henry Cavill – 4/1
James Norton – 6/1
Tom Hardy – 7/1
Nonetheless, this is all just speculation and isn’t an official source. Hopefully we’ll hear something official in the coming months.
