Hugh Jackman has hinted that he’ll be portraying more than one version of Wolverine in Deadpool 3. Phase Four of the MCU may not have met everyone’s expectations but it still delivered the franchise’s biggest surprises yet.
The returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s respective versions of Spider-Man left a collective cheer echoing throughout the world. A cheer that would only get louder.
In addition to Maguire and Garfield, Patrick Stewart would also go on to reprise his role as Professor X. Phase Five looks to continue this trend of returning favourites.

In a shocking reveal, Reynolds announced that he finally convinced Hugh Jackman to make another appearance as Wolverine. Prior to this exciting announcement, Jackman constantly affirmed that 2017’s Logan was his final outing as iconic superhero.
Nonetheless the celebrated actor couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to appear as the character in the MCU. As a result, Deadpool 3 is now among the most highly anticipated MCU movies to be released and rightly so.
Very little regarding the story has been revealed except that the movie will take place before the events of Logan. Furthermore, Patrick Stewart has teased a possible appearance from his Professor X and Ian McKellen’s Magneto in the upcoming sequel.
Another tease from Hugh Jackman himself has just surfaced following a recent interview with the French news outlet Le Parisien. When asked about his role in Deadpool 3, Jackman might’ve accidentally dropped a potentially huge spoiler.
No doubt Kevin Feige has already deployed his snipers to keep an eye on him. The actor said:
“Yes, it will even be a dual role, ryan and I have been friends for twenty years; we have a lot of fun together.”
This has led to widespread speculation that he’ll be portraying more than one variant of Wolverine in the movie. Given that time travel and the multiverse will likely play a major role in the plot it would make sense.
After all, Jackman portrayed two different versions of the same character in Logan. He further went on to confirm that filming is set to commence this summer.

Which means he’ll be starting his dreaded steamed chicken diet again shortly. He revealed:
“We are filming this summer. That’s why I’m so happy to be in Paris right now and to be able to enjoy French gastronomy. Because very soon, I’m going to have to put myself on a strict diet to remake my Wolverine body: steamed chicken and broccoli!”
If he is playing more than one variant of Wolverine, expect one to wear the classic comic book suit.
