Harry Potter reboot teaser trailer reused John Williams’ iconic theme music from the original film
saga.

Following a previous report, Warner Bros. Discovery has now officially announced that a Harry Potter reboot is in the works. Rather than another film saga, the series will instead be adapted into a TV show that’ll span over a decade.

Moreover, it’ll exclusively air on HBO Max which the studio recently confirmed will be rebranded as Max. As expected, this announcement was immediately met with backlash and heartbreak from fans of the magical story.

After all, the roles that made Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint household names will be recast. Furthermore, controversial author and creator J.K. Rowling will also play an integral role in the show’s development.

This doesn’t help make Warner Bros. Discovery future look promising, it actually makes any hope of returning to glory bleaker. Nonetheless, CEO David Zaslav is determined to fully make further use of the Wizarding World I.P. despite the negative response.

Defending J.K. Rowling and this outlandish decision to reboot the beloved franchise, Zaslav explained:

“We’re free to do anything we want. Some areas we need to do with J.K., other areas we have the full ability to go forward. This is a full deployment on Max of Harry Potter, we can still develop other properties.”

One the biggest reasons behind this is so that they can be more authentic to Rowling’s books. Given that the movie’s had limited runtimes, a lot of significant scenes and characters had to be cut.

Despite this, all eight films remain classics and are considered essential viewing for all moviegoers to this day. They’re not even that old either, the last movie only came out just under twelve years ago.

While visual effects have gotten better since then, the CGI used in the Harry Potter movies have aged very well. Nevertheless, WBD plans to insure that the highest quality gets put into the upcoming TV show.

HBO & Max Content Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys revealed via SFFGazette.com that the budget will massive. The goal is to give the show a production budget that’s on par with Game Of Thrones.

Bloys revealed:

“It will be that scale or higher, whatever it takes to make a quality show.”

In addition, a small teaser trailer was even released by Warner Bros. Discovery to confirm the reboot. It featured the floating candles seen in Hogwarts’ great hall before slowly revealing the castle itself.

The biggest takeaway was that it even included John Williams’ iconic score from the movies playing in the background. Understandable that they’ll continue to use this music given that it’s become synonymous with Harry Potter.

Much like how John Williams’ Superman theme has become just as famous as the character himself. However, expectations for this TV show are lower than the deepest, darkest cell in Azkaban.

Unless by magic actually exists, this reboot will almost certainly be dead on arrival.
