Daredevil: Born Again set photos have seemingly confirmed that the upcoming MCU series will be a full-on reboot.
While everyone is ecstatic to have Charlie Cox back as Daredevil there’s still a sense of dread in the air. The actor made his debut as the classic Marvel superhero in the acclaimed Netflix TV series back in 2015.
Upon their respective releases, all three seasons of Daredevil were immediately met with universal praise from critics and fans. In addition, the show is widely considered to be the greatest live action adaptation of any Marvel I.P. to date.
It’s no surprise that it’s sudden cancellation left fans everywhere heartbroken. Questions about the character’s future in the MCU immediately began running rampant.
The most prominent of which regarded whether or not Charlie Cox would reprise his role as The Man Without Fear. Thankfully this question was swiftly answered when Cox made a brief appearance as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Furthermore, he would also go on to have a guest role in the Disney Plus series, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. This time we’d see him once again suit up as The Devil Of Hell’s Kitchen.
It was unclear if Cox was portraying the same version of Daredevil from Netflix’s adaptation or a new variant. His suit while having a different colour scheme this time around was clearly identical to the one he wore before.
Moreover, a brief snippet of the original show’s theme music could be heard when Murdock calls himself Daredevil to She-Hulk. This gave fans a good indication that this was indeed the same version of the character from the Netflix adaptation.
However this wasn’t confirmed.
At San Diego Comic-Con last year, Kevin Feige officially announced that a new Daredevil series was in the works. Daredevil: Born Again is currently filming in New York City and will air on Disney Plus in the coming years.
This news was met with great excitement from fans and has already become the MCU’s most anticipated Disney Plus series. Nonetheless, there’s still concerns about whether or not this’ll be a full-on reboot rather than a continuation.
More so after the news that the role of Vanessa Fisk (the wife of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin) had been recast. Now it’s looking like the rumours of a reboot have sadly been confirmed thanks to newly leaked set photos.
While filming in Harlem, a teenage actor rumoured to be portraying young Wilson Fisk can be seen on set. He also appears to be being tormented by local neighbourhood bullies while on his way home from school.
Should this be the case then it would be a massive deviation from Fisk’s grim origin from the Netflix series. In Season One Episode Eight, we see the future Kingpin brutally murder his father with a hammer before dismembering him.

Following this life changing incident, his mother sends him to live with relatives on a farm away from New York. These new scenes being filmed suggests that Fisk will be getting a new origin for the upcoming Disney Plus series.
This would prove beyond any doubt that Netflix’s Marvel shows are no longer canon to the mainstream MCU.
