Chloe Bennet Discusses Returning As Quake In The MCU

Chloe Bennet has recently discussed the possibility of reprising her role as Quake in the MCU.

A majority of the MCU’s most beloved heroes and villains made their first appearances in the movies. Nonetheless, a fair amount have also been introduced through the various TV shows the franchise has to offer.

With the two formats finally crossing over with one another, fans are hoping to see certain characters make their return. In addition, they also hope that they’ll even play a much larger role in the MCU’s ongoing narrative.

One of these characters is the tech savvy S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Inhuman superhero Daisy Johnson A.K.A Quake. Quake made her comic book debut in the second issue of the 2004 Marvel storyline Secret War.

While it shares a similar name, this run is unrelated to the classic Secret Wars event that released in 1984. It actually shares a connection with the popular Secret Invasion storyline which might not be a coincidence.

Quake made her first live action appearance in the MCU’s first TV show, Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC. Moreover, she was originally introduced as a genius hacker who only went by the codename Skye.

However fans suspected that she was in fact the MCU’s version of Daisy Johnson and they were right. From season three onwards, she began going by Quake rather than Skye.

She was portrayed by the beautiful and talented Chloe Bennet for the entirety of the show’s run. When Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. eventually came to end, fans weren’t ready to say goodbye to Chloe Bennet or Quake.

After Daredevil actor Charlie Cox’s surprise cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, hopes that Bennet would also return grew. Furthermore, they would only grow bigger when even more Marvel TV actors were announced to be reprising their roles.

The Punisher star Jon Bernthal will to return to the MCU in the upcoming Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again. Speculation about where Quake could make her MCU comeback has been a hot topic for a while now.

All signs seemingly point to the Secret Invasion limited series that arrives on Disney Plus in a few weeks. The Disney Plus series stars Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury who’s uncovers a global invasion plot by the shapeshifting Skrulls.

Given that the character made her first appearance in a comic storyline connected to Secret Invasion it would make sense. Recently, Chloe Bennet spoke with Screen Rant and discussed the possibility of playing Quake again in the MCU.

The actress explained:

“Of course, I would be open to it. Listen, there’s a lot of stuff around that. I so deeply love SHIELD fans, because it’s their tenacity that got the show on air to begin with, I have not once been approached or asked or involved in anything after I’ve wrapped SHIELD, and I am not involved in anything that is coming out. I’ve not been asked, but I would be more than excited to put on the suit again. Of course, Daisy’s a big part of who I am. So, I would love to, but I have not been communicated with.”

This wouldn’t be the first time an actor has denied their involvement in a Marvel Studios movie or TV series. Looking at you Andrew Garfield.

Plus, she also clapped back at a Twitter troll not long ago with a very interesting response. Claiming that she wasn’t talented enough to share the screen with someone like Samuel L. Jackson, Bennet replied:

“Your tweets aren’t going to age well!”

So don’t be surprised that she’s only saying that she’s not spoke to Marvel Studios due to signing an NDA. It’s very likely that we’ll see her make the ground tremble again in Secret Invasion.
