Zack Snyder Interested in Directing a Star Wars Movie

Disney is eyeing Zack Snyder to direct a Star Wars movie.

Zack Snyder is busy lately since he released his cut of Justice League; he’s proven himself again that he is a talented director.

He is well known for movies like Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, 300, Man of Steel, and lately Army of the Dead.

It seems that notable studios are looking into his talents after his success on HBO Max and Netflix.

One of these is Disney.

It seems that the House of Mouse is interested in getting the notable director to work on Star Wars.

There is no question that Zack Snyder has been a fan of Star Wars; in fact, it started during his early years.

He still enjoys the first two movies of the franchise, 1977’s Star Wars and 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back.

Furthermore, he also watches The Mandalorian.

He is just a fan like most of us. He worked on a Star Wars script during DC Films’ Man of Steel.

It would be interesting to see what he can do if he is given the chance to work on Star Wars.

Disney does have the budget for Zack Snyder’s directing style.

He is a heavy CGI-dependent director.

Can you think of a movie that he did that didn’t require computer graphics?

I would just be amazed of what he can do with the franchise.

As a fan himself, I do believe that he will do what he can to make it work within the universe George Lucas has created.

The question is, can he work well to collaborate in order to make it all work within a larger universe.

Further, you might think that he did work on the DC Cinematic Universe which we call the Snyderverse, but then again, he had issues with corporate meddling which made it difficult for him to be creative with his work.

Hence we got the Joss Whedon Justice League because of that.

So, even as a fan of the films, will he work well with others on helping build a bigger universe in Star Wars?

You do have to consider that Star Wars has people making sure that every movie, game, book, TV show and others will have to fit into a larger narrative.

They can’t conflict in any medium.

But it does open up the possibility that Zack Snyder can make his own story within the Star Wars universe since he is also fascinated with the world building shown in the classic movies.

This may give him a chance to make a stand-alone movie or possibly a series within the Star Wars universe and put his stamp on it.

There are a lot of Star Wars stories that are just as interesting and fascinating as the movies that didn’t rely on any familiar characters like the Skywalkers, Han Solo, or R2-D2.

Think of when they first made the comic book Tales of the Jedi – Knights of the Old Republic (1994).

It grew to the point that they made books and games out of it.

Now it’s even worked onto and be made into its own movie series.

The game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order only has a few references to the Star Wars history.

Nevertheless, it still made an interesting story and now people are looking forward to the next game in the series.

But I do worry about Zack Snyder with regard to his storytelling.

So far, his original stories are more of a hit or miss.

His popular works is based on well-established materials like 300, Watchmen and his makeover of Dawn of the Dead.

Look at his original story ‘SuckerPunch,’ wherein a lot of people just didn’t get what he was trying to convey.

There is no question that his work are visual masterpieces, but his own storytelling might need a bit more refining.

Personally, I think that stories that help build the world is more interesting than the one extending the story that we are already familiar with.

I love what they did with Rogue One, The Mandalorian, and I am excited for the upcoming Obi-Wan series.

I think this is a better direction that they can go for.

I’m interested to see Disney give a chance to Zack Snyder.

I look forward to see what he can add to the Star Wars universe.
