X-Men Screenwriter Confirms MCU Reboot Of Charlie Cox' Daredevil

X-Men screenwriter David Hayter confirmed that Marvel Studios is rebooting Charlie Cox’ Daredevil at London Film and Comic Con.

The news comes to us from our friends at Small Screen.

For those unaware, Hayter wrote the screenplay for Bryan Singer’s first X-Men film in 2000.

In other words, Hayter helped carve the roots of Marvel Studios’ superhero empire.

Afterward, he co-wrote the acclaimed sequel, X2.

Moreover, he helped adapt Alan Moore’s Watchmen for director Zack Snyder.

As a result, Hayter’s credibility and reputation in comic-book cinema is solid.

In other words, he knows what he’s talking about.

While Marvel Studios continues to be quiet about Daredevil’s return, Hayter is startlingly candid.

Hayter revealed:

You know, they’re doing a reboot of Daredevil. Daredevil was always a very important character to me, and I loved the first way they did it.

On Netflix, Daredevil ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2018.

Critics praised Daredevil for its grit and emotional depth.

Certainly, the show captured the pulp-fiction intensity of writer/artist Frank Miller’s work.

Hayter also shared his affection for Miller’s Daredevil.

Not only that, he’s interested in working on the MCU reboot.

Hayter admitted:

But there’s certain things that I want to adapt from the Frank Miller run on Daredevil that really meant a lot to me…I mean, that’s really the one.

Small Screen shot the footage; watch it here.

Charlie Cox’ Daredevil: All Rumored Upcoming MCU Appearances

When Netflix cancelled Daredevil, fans howled in anguish. At the same time, they missed Charlie Cox in the role.

Like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Charlie Cox denied any rumored appearances of Daredevil.

But the evidence is piling up.

A few days ago, a photo leaked of Charlie Cox in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Indeed, there he is as Daredevil’s secret identity, Matt Murdock, with star Tom Holland.

Some argued that it was fake; many were convinced it was real. Simply put, it looked too good to be Photoshopped.

In the past few months, rumors also spread of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in two Disney Plus series, Echo and She-Hulk.

All Marvel Studios actors sign NDAs (non-disclosure agreements). Thus, they have to lie or deny their involvement until they’re allowed to speak openly.

Yes, Disney Plus Day on November 12 could announce a new Daredevil show set in the MCU. However, that might spoil Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Until then, leaks will drop like rain. Either that or Hollywood veterans like Hayter drop it in public conversation.
