Wonder Woman 3 Could Be Last Gal Gadot's Last

Gal Gadot could hang up her magic lasso after the third Wonder Woman film.

Despite Wonder Woman 1984’s lackluster reception with fans and critics, Warner Bros. is still moving forward with Wonder Woman 3.

Director Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot will reunite to end the trilogy.

There are no plans for Jenkins to continue; in fact, with her Star Wars gig on 2023’s Rogue Squadron, insiders reveal she isn’t done with Lucasfilm.

This is likely Jenkins’ last time directing a Wonder Woman film.

Furthermore, sources add that it’s equally likely that this will also be Gal Gadot’s final Wonder Woman.

However, this won’t be because of Wonder Woman 1984 being considered a letdown.

After all, Jenkins always intended to stop at a trilogy similar to what Christopher Nolan did with Batman.

Moreover, Gal Gadot said before she would only return for a third solo film as long as Jenkins was directing.

On September 9, 2021, Geekosity Editor-in-Chief Mikey Sutton scooped on his Rogues Gallery YouTube program with Syl Abdul that Wonder Woman 3 is Gal Gadot’s final bow.

You can watch it here at 43:18.

Prior to this, in January 2021 Sutton revealed that Wonder Woman 3 would see her finally return back home to Themyscira.

It’d bring the character’s story arc full circle. In addition, Wonder Woman 3 will also be more closer in tone to the first movie.

That film was much darker compared to the sequel’s more retro and campy vibe.

The plot for the movie will apparently be influenced by the Wonder Woman 50th anniversary storyline, “War of the Gods.”

That saw Roman gods wage war with Olympian gods, Egyptian gods, African gods, Norse gods, Babylonian gods, and Thanagarian gods who all want to recreate the world in their own images.

It turns out the evil goddess Circe is revealed to have orchestrated this war between the all the pantheons of gods. She wants to kill the Earth goddess Gaea.

Circe is goddess-level sorceress and also a longtime enemy of Wonder Woman in the comics. She will serve as Wonder Woman’s main villain.

If Wonder Woman 3 ends up being Gal Gadot’s last solo movie, the role of Diana Prince won’t be recast. The actress has now become synonymous with the role like many other actors with roles as comic-book characters.

The Wonder Woman mantle will be passed down to a new hero, specifically the most recent incarnation of the hero: Yara Flor.

Yara Flor made her comics debut back in March earlier this year in Dark Nights: Death Metal No. 7.

Flor is a demigod who, unlike Prince, does not come from the tribe of Amazons of Themyscira.

Instead, Flor is from a different tribe of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil, South America.

As we all know, DC Films has been trying to be more diverse with their cast and characters going forward such as casting Leslie Grace as Batgirl, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, and so on.

The CW was developing a Flor TV show last year before it was oddly cancelled. Perhaps this is why.

It makes sense that after Gal Gadot’s tenure as Wonder Woman has concluded, the studio would want to adapt Yara Flor for the franchise.
