Warner Bros Discovery Still Wants To Work With Zack Snyder

Zack Snyder said he hasn’t received a call from Warner Bros Discovery yet; nevertheless, sources reveal the studio still wants to work with him. The Preston and Steve Show asked Zack Snyder if DC’s new leaders have contacted him. Snyder’s innocuous reply ripped the hearts of his fans. However, many misunderstood his statement. Snyder said:

As far as I know, which is very little, I am doing my thing and haven’t had anyone give me a call or anything. So, I am just wishing them all the best and hoping that they make some cool movies.

First of all, Snyder didn’t claim DC Studios had moved on from him. Unless there’s a message in invisible ink, it doesn’t exist. Regardless, the anti-SnyderVerse crowd, of course, saw this is as an admission of defeat. Of course, they would. They don’t want it to happen. They either don’t appreciate his work or be proven wrong about their speculation.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav removed the original executives who refused to deal with Snyder (and his followers) anymore. Regular Geekosity readers know I accurately scooped their departures.

In other words, Zaslav melted the walls down. He poured lava on the previous regime.

In addition, Snyder admitted, “as far as I know, which is very little.” That’s hardly definitive. Being a true professional, he gave them a seal of approval.

Secondly, if Zack Snyder had spoken to DC Studios or Warner Bros. Discovery, he wouldn’t be allowed to reveal it, either. For example, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire lied for months about their participation in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Directors sign NDAs (non-disclosure agreements), too.

On October 28, we explained that Snyder hasn’t signed a new contract with WBD yet. After all, he hasn’t completed his first-look contract with Netflix. That won’t end until 2023.

Moreover, nothing in Hollywood moves at Flash speed. Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran didn’t begin at DC Studios until November 1. That’s less than two weeks ago. So, they should’ve met with Snyder already? Completely unrealistic. Gunn and Safran have 10 years of DC properties to map out.

Insiders are adamant that WBD will seriously pursue Snyder for further DC movies like Justice League 2. You can either believe the glass is half empty or half full. But Gunn and Safran have just moved in.

Give them time.

The reality of the situation is that WBD sees profit in Snyder’s legion of fans. Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice grossed over $166 million on opening weekend in 2016. WBD would kill for that kind of box office now. In fact, that’s just slightly below what the blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is tracking for at the moment.

Yet take away the insider information and you’re still left with Snyder’s vague response.

He didn’t tell you it’s over.

He basically said DC’s bosses didn’t phone him in their first week of employment.

Because of that, the SnyderVerse is dead?

Seriously?
